Vocation - Tumblr Posts
I love Saturday morning study sesh! . . . I think I pretty much relegated myself to my occupation. Medicine and nursing are my fave of top things to do during the day. It’s pleasurable to learn new things and master them. I hope to keep this up for life, enjoying it all the way. . . . #study #medicine #nursing #vocation #hobby #learning #cafe #coffee #committed (at Better Buzz Coffee Hillcrest) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrImhTqhjeJ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ah0wj5h5mz3e
We desperately need vocations to the priesthood and consecrated religious.

“If I were to become a hermit, I would become a saint” or “If I were to enter a monastery, I would practice penance” or “If I were to go away from here, leaving friends and companions, I would devote long hours to prayer.” If, If, If—all these if’s! In the meantime such a person goes from bad to worse. These idle fancies are often temptations of the devil, because they are not in accord with God’s will. Hence we should dismiss them summarily and rouse ourselves to serve God only in that way which he has marked out for us. Doing his holy will, we shall certainly become holy in those surroundings in which he has placed us.

The Virgin Mary must have some sort of special plan for me since she’s showing her miraculous presence to me (holy dreams and flowers blooming in winter) almost daily and I’m not even baptised yet…
I moved to France in 2019. One adjustment was realizing that a lot of salaries at at or close to minimum wage here. So you can become a psychologist or a janitor and you're going to be making close to the same amount. Same with teaching and many other professions. It blew my mind. I *could* go back to school for five years to become a psychologist, or I could just take the janitor job advertised at a local building, and make the same right away. It really put into perspective: what do I *want* to do? Life changing. I'm making almost minimum wage now as an in home caregiver for disabled people. I love it. I had two months of paid training. And now I'm full n it. What would you do if money would be the same either way?
