Goddamit crunchyroll! Look at how the massacred my boy's name! Couldn't the poor translators even get notes on the characters names from the series own website? First of all, I don't understand why the international version changed his name to Ivan. Well, that is a lie. I do know a reason. In Chinese and Japanese both names sound the same, thus, are spelled the same. But that is straight up ignoring that the author gave us the latinized spelling of his name since his first appearance as Evan; and that it continues to be used for all of his merch material. So, did no one bother to check? I swear if I see fans call him Iwan unironically I'll lose it.
This also happened to Luis: his name is now spelled Lewis for the international version of the donghua. It bothers me less so as both Lewis and Luis have the same pronunciation in English, unlike Evan/Ivan; tho I definitely lean more towards Luis (¡carajo!).
Edit: since we are on the topic of character names. The newest volume bios confirm Crystal brother's name is Frost. I'm guessing he is named after the poet Robert Frost, as he writes poetry in a comic too.
I already own the 3 new volumes... They are still waiting to be shipped in china. I'll update with the new bios as soon as I have them. Can't wait to have official information on characters like Will and Sasha!
