GOING ON WALKS was an essential part of aurora’s daily routine . to go outside & be greeted by the warm sun brought peace to the blonde , which was something she found herself searching for ever since the day she came to elias . not because it wasn’t a good place to live , but because there were far too many things in her mind . aurora still struggled with the notion of being a princess , of having a father & a mother somewhere who were still doing all they could to protect her , not to mention her aunts --- better yet , the three fairies who pretended to be her aunts . it had been a while since those revelations came to her , but that didn’t mean she had had the opportunity to truly process them .
like many times before , the blonde’s wandering around town led her towards the enchanted forest , a place that called to her ( perhaps due to it’s familiarity to the woods back home ) , but that she would never dare enter . so there she stood , a couple dozen feet away from the forest , watching it as if it was looking back at her . it was only when she heard a nearby sound that aurora turned her face towards it’s source , a small gasp escaping her lips . ❝ oh , hello , ❞ the woman greeted with a gentle , pearly white smile . ❝ i’m sorry , i was a bit distracted . did you say something ? ❞
❝ PERSONALLY , I THINK valentines day is a beautiful holiday . what’s not to love about it ? ❞ a pause , ❝ ... that wasn’t a ‘ love ’ & ‘ valentines day ’ joke , by the way ... a - anyway , ❞ dismissing her potentially poor choice of words with a shake of her head , rosalie took a deep breath & smiled at the other person . ❝ what i meant to say is ... it is the perfect day to show your loved ones how much you love them . even if you’ve yet to find true love , just like me , there must be at least one person who you care for . ❞ & if not , well , rosalie thought that was just absurd . everyone had at least someone they cared about , it’s just the way things had to be . at least in her eyes . ❝ all that aside , would you like a piece of my cotton candy ? i imagine this is what a cloud would taste like . ❞
❝ EXCUSE ME , may i interest you in some winter gloves , even though it’s summer ? it’s completely free , i promise . ❞ quickly , aurora reached inside the shopping bag she’d been carrying and picked up a dark brown pair of gloves . ❝ i was so surprised by the sudden weather change that i think i went a little overboard preparing for it ... i really don’t have a need for so many pairs . ❞

A SOFT HUM ESCAPES THE PRINCESS’S LIPS , and although her gaze lingers on the other person as she savours a delicious candy apple , it’s clear that she’s not entirely there . rosalie had a fairly rigorous sleep schedule , it was easier to keep an eye on her sleepwalking tendencies that way , so it was only natural that as time passed in the festival , the blonde would find herself growing tired . ❝ hmm ... i - i mean , huh ? ❞ quickly , she fixed her postured and patted down the skirt of her dress , a last minute effort to try and seem a little more focused than she truly was . ❝ i’m sorry , what did you say ? i’m afraid i didn’t catch that , i was- um , thinking about ... this candy apple ! ❞

❝ ISN’T NEW YEAR’S DAY EXCITING ? i just love the atmosphere , it’s always so full of hope & happiness . i don’t think i’ve been this excited for something since ... oh i know , since they freed britney ! ❞ the princess affirms with a nod of her head , one of certainty and confidence . it is only after taking a sip from her latte that aurora speaks again , ❝ i must say i don’t know britney , but i’m happy she’s free . she must be very excited about the new year . ❞

❛ LOOK , I DON’T MEAN TO BE RUDE or anything but this whole parade situation is just uncalled for . ❜ a pause , dramatic as always before she turns completely to the person sitting beside her , a heavy sigh of mild despair falling from rosalie’s lips . ❛ okay , fine , you got me — i’m incredibly jealous ! you see , i’m a twin and while i absolutely love my dearest brother seviathan , i’ll never have my own parade ! and- and even if we were to have a parade for the two of us , his floatie would be huge ! so much bigger than mine , because he is a giant . literally took all of the height in the womb all for himself ! so yes , i’m jealous ... does that make me a bad person ? ❜

❛ ISN'T HE ADORABLE ? not to be biased but i believe he gets cuter and cuter each day . isn't that right , mister cottonball ? ❜ her smile matches the tone in rosalie's voice , always more than happy to gush about her bunny . sure , horses were fun and house pets too but if you asked the princess , she'd say forest creatures are the real deal . they were also incredible listeners ; that is , if you can understand them . ❛ i never thought motherhood would come to me in my early twenties but i'd say i've been doing a great job raising cottonball ! he's sociable , he's healthy ... i only wish he wasn't so fixated on carrots ! ❜

❛ DID YOU KNOW THE ORCHID is this year's flower ? ❜ aurora mused as she stood before the flowers in question , ruminating about them . while most things seemed to have lost their ability to spark joy since her conversation with maleficent , she still found comfort in nature — especially flowers . ❛ they represent lots of things , too . love , beauty , wealth , children . many children . ❜ blinking at the thought , she pauses momentarily . ❛ ... i should probably warn my friends . ❜
