Fandom's perception of Turbo is so interesting to me. There's this idea that Turbo was solely responsible for the near death of the franchise thanks to changes like the lighter tone and Justin (thanks Linkara) but no one ever stops to think.....WHY they made those changes in the first place. Like. Maybe the previous season that's held in such high regard now........actually wasn't very popular at all at the time when it aired........so they thought they had to take it in a new direction to bring back audiences..........just. you know. something to think about.

But anyway yeah, because of this, fandom tends to think the solution is simply to make Turbo COOL and SERIOUS like ZEO (lmao) when that's simply trying to fix what's not broken. Campy and goofy isn't the same as bad writing; and even better, camp and fun is memorable. Everyone remembers the pizza episode because it was camp and it rocks. People hated Divatox but she was FUN compared to how the Machine Empire was boring as hell even if they were "more of a threat" (they weren't). So it's important to keep in mind when trying to rewrite a PR season to be "better." So this is good!

The main thing that would have to change in Turbo nowadays is, yeah, Blue Centurion. A vigilante would be okay but I think it would honestly just make the Millennium Message more vital to his character and the season's story. Even though the way it was done now leads to some of my favorite passages in RangerWiki:
