"Amber Heard having BPD and being a bad person does not justify treating those with BPD badly" and "Amber Heard's BPD does not justify her abusive behaviour" are statements than can and MUST coexist. She's a garbage human being that happens to have a Borderline Personality Disorder, but the BPD is not the reason for her being a trash goblin. Be respectful of others and fuck Amber Heard.

Amber Heard has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder, confirmed in court by her psychiatrist today.

That does not mean all people with BPD, HPD or any other form of personality disorders or mental illnesses are abusive! Nor does it mean they deserve disrespect or abuse because of it!

Please please don't use this case to spread sexism or hate against anyone with mental illnesses or personality disorders.

Also, in general, I wish people would be more mindful about using those terms as insults, when these are actual disorders that need to be professionally diagnosed

And lastly, although it should not need to be said, mental illnesses or personality disorders are of course no excuse for abuse.

the johnny depp & amber heard situation is going to bring a lot of harm to people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. once again, bpd is being brought into the spotlight however the terms of which it is there are negative. this will only worsen the stigma already associated with this personality disorder. please remember that ah is just one person with the disorder. she is not all of us, and most of us are not like that. the disorder we share is not the reason for her actions. two people with the same disorder can react to the same situation very differently and it depends on core characteristics and morals which are gained through environment. please, please do not hold contempt for all borderlines because of amber.
