"shhh, she's coming this way, shut it people."
yoongi doesn't think he's seen namjoon smile this widely, dimples on full display, eyes crinkling into crescent moons. a gentle "hi" along with a "wanna sit with us for lunch?" and when you nod in return, he practically yeets taehyung out of his seat, softly patting the seat next to him. you chuckle, amused at his duality. yoongi resists the urge to cover his mouth with his hand, shocked at how lovey-dovey his friend is acting. apparently, its not acting, because it's the same way he acts his dog moni, all mushy and a puddle of goo.
namjoon is clinging onto every word you're saying, adding his own insights, which makes you rant more about some magic library book you read. slowly, one by one, the boys sigh and pick at their food, tired of namjoon not speaking up and telling you what he was telling them a few moments ago before you arrived.
"can you believe it? moni and her get along so well! i couldn't ask a better mother for my child," namjoon says dreamily, much to the disgust of his friends. "just tell her, man" seokjin groans, "we're tired of you ranting about her night and day! all you have to do is walk up to her, tell her you like her and live happily ever after."
namjoon's face drops at his hyung's blunt words, “i’m sorry for watching you tolerate it.” he says quietly. yoongi glares at seokjin, sliently reprimanding him. "all he's saying is, maybe you should tell her" he starts slowly, "keeping her in the dark and not letting her know may result in something you both don't want," yoongi says wisely. namjoon nods, suddenly perking up and being all smiles. yoongi just hopes he finally tells you what's been on his mind and heart all this while.
it's you who makes the first move, surprisingly.
"hey, do you wanna come with me to the boba shop later? i got their premium card and i could use someone to help me get a discount."
everyone's looking at namjoon now, food long forgotten. namjoon catches their stares, sliently urging him to say yes and get the damn discount. also, get them boba teas while he's at it.
he looks back at you, unfamiliar glint of hope in your eyes. he nods, offering to take you there. the whole group roars at that suggestion, jimin hastily shoving the keys in your hand, knowing the last vehicle namjoon had driven was a go-kart. said man scoffs at their reaction, mumbling he was just gonna pay for the cab fare.
on the way to the boba shop, namjoon offers you various tips and tricks to get you discounts, saying he's an expert at getting what he wants. turns out, he's right. he's also happily sipping and chewing the boba in front of you, which he got at more than half the price.
"so, joonie," you start, "i've been talking to your friends and-" namjoon suddenly coughs, seemingly choking on a boba ball. you rush and pat his back, settling into the chair next to him. you giggle, "why have you been talking them?" he asks, voice a bit scratchy. you shrug, "they've been trying to talk to me, so last week taehyung, jimin and jungkook forcefully sat me down and uh," you fidget with the loose threads on your beige cardigan, “i heard my crush on you was obvious, apparently.”

"can you please say something," you chuckle, seeing his eyes dart between you and your fidgeting fingers. how could he be so oblivious? every thing falls into place now, the times you would stay up with him over zoom so you could finish your homework, get him an extra pen because he always asks you, he could go on.
he smiles that smile, your favourite smile. you know namjoon wants to know the W's of your crush on him. if only he could see, from your point of view, he's the loveliest person you could ever meet. gentle yet clumsy, goofy but serious when it comes to something serious, loving but can also be hella annoying. you hold his hand, intertwine them tightly as if to say, "i'll tell you everything."
