That rage was being saved up exclusively for Baryard, to be meted out later. Arthur would leave all that to his father. Justice was the king’s responsibility; Merlin was Arthur’s.

~ He was thinking about all of it: riding so far, half killing his horse, battling spiders and Cockatrices, and almost being pitched into an abyss by an evil witch. Of course, he knew why he had gone to such lengths. Merlin was the reason, and Arthur would do it all again - if absolutely necessary - because Merlin had saved his life and it was the right thing to do. ~

Arthur turned to leave, acknowledging Gaius with a nod on his way out. But Merlin wasn’t quite ready to let Arthur go. Not without saying what really needed to be said. It was time to drop the pretence and just say it honestly. ‘Arthur,’ he called out, and stopped the prince near the doorway. ‘Thank you.’ Arthur met Merlin’s gaze. And in that look they shared something. There was no more bluff; there was only a unspoken understanding of what they had gone through for each other. And something that felt dangerously close to friendship.
