Title: The Boundary Line Link: AO3, FF.net Chapters: 7/? Summary: Three years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter has just turned 21 and is working as an auror for the Ministry. The wizarding world has rebuilt, the last of the Death Eaters are being tracked down and apprehended, and life has found a sense of normalcy for those who survived the war; the worst of it is over, and Harry has almost convinced himself that’s true. But then an investigation takes an unexpected turn, a former classmate disappears, a secret organization is forming in the shadows, and it turns out that one of the oldest rules of magic may not be as true as it seems.

Last chapter: Harry makes last minute preparations for beginning to teach, and the trio actually talk about their feelings like adults???

This chapter: Harry finally arrives at Hogwarts, meets up with some old friends, and begins trying to come to terms with his first home no longer being the place he remembers.

Chapter 7 preview:

They stepped up onto the tiny porch, Fang beginning to bark at their presence, and Harry knocked three times on the door. It was only a moment of waiting before the door swung upon, and Hagrid's expression shifted from curiosity at who his guests might be to a broad smile as he recognized them.

"Well there's a sight for sore eyes! Harry! Luna!" Hagrid scooped them both into a hug, one massive arm around each of them. "I knew I'd be seein' yeh today, but I didn't expect yeh both on my doorstep at the same time!"

"We ran into each other in Hogsmeade." Harry explained, a little breathless due to Hagrid's hug.

"Well I'm glad t'see yeh both! Come in, have some tea, and I made some cakes…" Hagrid gave them both a small final squeeze and then let go, leading them back into the hut. Fang, now able to reach Harry and Luna, demanded attention and both of them gave him plenty of ear scratches.

Harry stowed his trunk and broom in a corner and refused the dubious-looking cakes—he'd had too much experience with Hagrid's cooking—and tried to signal to Luna to do the same, but she either didn't notice or ignored him. Both Harry and Luna accepted tea and took seats at Hagrid's table, and Harry noted just how happy Hagrid looked; Hagrid was practically beaming, looking from Harry to Luna and back with great affection in his eyes. A distinctly warm sense of feeling loved and wanted burned quietly in Harry's chest.

Luna ate her cake with no indication that it was the taste or consistency of concrete, much to Harry's confusion; he wasn't sure if that meant Hagrid's baking skills had improved or if Luna was simply impervious to how inedible it usually was, but it was probably a little of both. The tea was good, though, and so were the memories of doing this same thing so many times throughout his school years. Hagrid had always been a constant, no matter what they'd all gone through, warm and welcoming and the first adult Harry had known who had truly loved him. Nothing about that had changed, even if the world around them had.

Title: Strike Like the Lightning Link: AO3, FF.net Chapters: 2/? Summary: Hermione Granger is familiar with the idea of dreams that are a little more than dreams; it’s impossible not to be, when one of your closest friends is Harry Potter. But no amount of second-hand knowledge could prepare her for finding herself sharing a dream world with Harry, especially not when they discover that the dream world and waking life aren’t as separate as they really should be. Notes: Slight AU in that Dumbledore doesn’t find the Gaunt ring at the beginning of 6th year, and then fully AU from about halfway through 6th year on. Eventual H/Hr, supportive Ron, morally grey Dumbledore, and some horror, you know, as a treat.

Chapter 2 Preview:

"There are few methods known to destroy a horcrux. Harry has already used one of them: the fang of a basilisk. However, I have my suspicions that this sword is another way."

Hermione suddenly had a distinct sense that she knew where this was going.

"It is my request, therefore, that you might conduct a potentially very important experiment." Dumbledore said, gaze flicking between Harry and Hermione. "Miss Granger, since you seem to find yourself beginning in Hogwarts in these dreams, I would like to ask you to retrieve the sword. Take it to the Riddle manor, unite with Harry, and then travel together to the Gaunt shack to locate the ring."

"Wait, do you think destroying it in the dream might, y'know, destroy it in real life?" Ron asked, halfway through what was surely his sixth piece of toast; Hermione hadn't been entirely sure he'd been paying attention, but apparently he had.

Dumbledore looked at him, considering the question only briefly before responding. "I think it would be presumptuous to believe such a thing so soon, and yet prudent to act as though it might indeed be true."
