out of curiousity: if you want to / have to go somewhere further away where you could cross the distance with either ground transportation (car, bus, train, boat) or by airplane, what amound of time spent on travelling on ground would make you pick an airplane instead?

as in: if travelling from A to B would take you either 12hrs by train, or 1½ hrs by plane, which option would you pick?

consider that the full travel time also includes such things as layovers for switching between trains or means of transportation, so if you have to spend 3hrs at a station to wait for the next train, that counts toward the full travel time as well

dude why does it have to be a time thing it's a fucking money thing i would gladly spend days on a train but they are SO EXPENSIVE which makes no goddamn sense but that's the way the world is rn if this question was “ground travel solely by bus” i'd consider a plane when it passes over the 6hour mark tho ngl i get so car sick on those but trains? trains are perfect boats too LMAO EDIT cos i forgot travel by car was even an option while most people answering this are probably just comparing cars and planes lmao
