I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a hardcore Young Royals fan, and every other day I either watch the entire series or my favorite episodes (which is difficult, so I typically wind up watching the entire series). And after watching the series for the umpteenth time, I began to notice some intriguing details, so here I am to share this scene that made me so proud of our boys!
Of course, this scenario takes place after Wilhelm and Simon's sex tape is leaked and our boys' first day back at school following the incident and look at them. Despite their nervousness, fear, and even feelings of shame, both of them came into class with their heads held high, not cowering themselves or hiding their faces in their hoodies. Even though all their classmates were staring and whispering at them, some were even laughing or mockingly smirking at them and taking enjoyment from our boys' discomfort, however, with a blank face both Simon and Wilhem faced every humiliation.
You can see in the last few gifs that every molecule in their body wanted to hide from the cruelty that this world has thrown at them, something so sacred to them, a moment that should have been theirs only were taken from them for the world to laugh or gloat at. They both wanted to escape from there and not face the world, yet both of them fought against their bodily instincts and forced themselves to seat upright straight. As if sending a message "We didn't do anything wrong so why should we lower our head in shame in front of you all."
I am so very proud of them for being so brave and strong facing such cruelty and for not giving up on each other and themselves. Especially Simon. You will always be my favorite child.
What a strange world we live in, where society questions, shames, and criticizes the victims while the culprit goes about with their head held high and no remorse for their wrongdoings. Where the victim's entire life is turned upside down while the culprits continue about their regular lives without missing a single night of sleep. I don't care about August's redemption arc. He outed Simon and Wilhem without their consent, recorded and shared underage teenagers' private moments. Maybe after he rots in jail for 20 years I will think about forgiving him but until then he can fuck off for all I care.
