Part 3 in me ramble-complaining about how the fandom treats Alphys Undertale, my favorite failgirl
Why do some people put Alphys purely in blame for the Determination experiments and hiding the amalgamates? Heck, some ridicule and/or call her evil for it.
She was put up to a task she was not prepared for, had ideas she had no clue what the results could be, just assumptions, thought everything was okay when things seemed okay, and panicked when shit hit the fan the next fuckin' day (hell, it could be LESS than that, HOURS, MINUTES).
She experimented on people that were gonna die anyways, assuming that it'd help their SOULs persist after death. But instead they were brought back to life. Thinking that was a good thing, that she did GOOD, that she did something Asgore wanted; bringing hope to monsterkind, she let the families of those ONCE DYING monsters know they were alive. THEN is when things went wrong. What is one people supposed to do when what they thought they did right is horribly contradicted? Panic, fear how people might react, fear that everyone will immediately hate you. "Hey! Your wife is alive! I'll send her back with you and your son tommorrow!" "Oh, sorry, your wife actually melted with 16 other people. Hope that's okay."
