Can't Help Falling In Love With You Pt.2

Series TW!: cheating, mistresses, grief, murder, Evil-ish, being trapped, toxic relationships, forced relationship, obsessive love, obsession, general insanity, manipulation, disloyalty, crybaby Mc, sensitive and a bit whimpy Mc

The waiting was agonizing.

You passed the time washing dishes at the sink, trying not to strain your ears for any sign of the door opening, for his boots scraping against the mat outside.

It couldn't be too far off by now, only a few minutes at most until he got home.

As if on queue, you heard boots coming up the complex stairs, which creaked under his weight.

The key turned in the lock and it felt like someone had drenched you in ice water and shoved you out into the hoth tundra. How were you going to do this?

You hadn't even been married a whole three years, but he had become one of the only people you talked to or saw regularly, you had almost forgotten how to move through the world without him.

Almost.

You'd had to relearn in the past few months with the distance he had put between the two of you. Been set adrift and panicked by someone who you loved, someone who was supposed to love you.

You shook your head, resolve finally breaking as you shook, letting out soft cries.

You didn't dare to look back at him, already picturing his vaguely surprised look at your obvious show of how you had felt all this time, but not sure you could take a confirmation of it.

"I can't do it." You whimpered, gripping the counter.

"Do what?" He asked simply, tone the gentlest you had heard it in a while, but wary.

"This, Steel, this is- bad! This hurts. We need to end this, now."

You turned to him, watching with exhausted resignation as his expression turned from confusion to shock.

"What?" He asked in a small voice, eyes now glued to you like they hadn't been in almost a year as you held yourself, leaning against the sink as you cried.

"I don't know why I've been holding onto this so hard when it's clear it's just… gone. I guess I just-"

You sobbed, losing any hold you had on your emotions.

"I just wanted you to keep loving me, because I love you so much, Steel! But I know I have to let you go now, I need to let you be happy, let us both be happy."

"Wait- Cyare, honey, what are you saying?" He took a step towards you, making you look directly at him, trying not to bawl as you choked out the words you had been preparing to say.

"We need a divorce, Steel. It's obvious you're not happy, I feel abandoned and alone- this marriage is hurting us- both of us."

He closed the distance between the two of you quickly, expression now panicked, much to your surprise. Nonetheless, you shied away when he reached out to touch your shoulder, "Hey, hey, hey, baby- who said I wasn't happy? You're being-"

"Please, Steel, I saw the messages."

You watched the color drain from his face.

"Sweetheart-"

You glared, ducking away from him and heading for the bedroom, "Don't call me that! Please! I'm trying to let you out! Please, stop talking to me like I'm stupid!"

He followed, "No- what are you-"

He stood in the doorway as you pulled you suitcase out of the closet, cursing yourself for bot packing earlier. Putting it on the bed, you slowly began to make your way through the dresser that you shared, placing some clothes in the main compartment.

"I'll stay with Effie while we get things sorted. The apartment was yours to begin with, so I'll- I don't know- I'll figure it out."

You gathered your stuffed animals from the shelves in a daze, dumping them gently in your laundry bag.

"I'll come back for the rest of my things as soon as I find a place, unless you want them out sooner, just- please don't throw anything away."

You could see his hands beginning to shake as you looked back to him for confirmation.

"What?" His voice was light, still seeming in complete disbelief.

You sighed, squeezing your eyes shut tight as you zipped the suitcase, struggling to get it off the bed.

"I want you to be happy, Steel, because I really do love you, and as much as I hate it, that can't be with me."

Not able to stand looking at him anymore, you pushed past him with your luggage, trying quiet your crying as you closed the door to the apartment.

Hailing a cab, you couldn't bare the sight of the complex enough to take a look back for fear of your resolve breaking.

-

You stared at the ring that sat on the nightstand, still hiccuping from your latest crying session since arriving at Effie's.

He had saved up his credits from various betting pools at the 79's to buy it, you had found out from his brothers. Of course, the shimmering diamonds that adorned it were fakes, but it was still a gorgeous ring, plus, you hadn't loved it for it's beauty.

You'd loved it because he had placed it on your finger that night in the backrooms of the 79's.

That thought process sent you into another round of sobbing, burying your face in the pillow beneath you so you didn't disrupt your friend in the other room.

You had even crying almost constantly since arriving at your friend's place. Luckily for the both of you, she worked a cushy advertising job, so there were no roommates to stare as you had collapsed into her, wailing and exhausted.

She'd had to escort you to her guest room just so she could cook dinner after a while, which you felt even more terrible about.

Since then, you had been going between crying and sleeping, barely able to keep track of which you were doing at the moment.

Despite your efforts to keep quiet, the door opened anyways, revealing the worried and lovely face of your friend, Effie.

"Hey, honey." She said, pushing the door open more with her hip. You saw now that she had a tray with her. A steaming microwave meal and glass of blue milk lay next to eachother, looking the most unappetizing you had ever seen something edible look.

You must've been making a face, because her frown only deepened.

"Come on, babe, you need to eat." She urged, placing the tray on the side table and sitting by your feet.

You nodded, guilt twisting along with the grief in your gut, "I'm sorry, I'm trying, it's just-"

You sniffed, embarrassed that you were crying again,

"Hard."

She nodded sympathetically, squeezing your ankle over the covers.

"I know, I'll get you more of that anti-nausea stuff soon, you said that helps a little?"

You nodded again, giving her a weak, but genuine, smile,

"Thank you, babe."

Fiddling with your hands, you mumbled, "I know you don't have to be doing this, so thank you, again."

She smiled slightly at that, bumping her shoulder with yours playfully, "Maybe not, but remember how you took care of me when I finally broke up with Hertz? How could I not do the same for my best girl?"

You snorted, a bit of humor slipping it's way into your tone, "I still don't know how you were so hung up on someone who looked like that!"

"He was very sweet when he wanted to be!" The Rodian pushed you softly in mock offense, laughing.

"He drooled!" You exclaimed, making her laugh harder.

Slowly, her laughter faded until she was just smiling softly at you.

"You know I love you." She took your hand, squeezing it, "Please just let me know if you need anything, you're not a burden."

At this, your eyes welled with new tears. It was impressive how the woman almost always knew what you needed to hear.

"Thank you, Effie." You sniffed, squeezing her hand in return and allowing her to pull you into a hug.

As you held eachother you felt that, if you had people like her in your life, maybe, maybe, you would make it through this.

Can't Help Falling In Love With You (pt.3)

Series TW!: cheating, mistresses, grief, murder, Evil-ish, being trapped, toxic relationships, forced relationship, obsessive love, obsession, general insanity, manipulation, disloyalty, crybaby Mc, sensitive and a bit whimpy Mc

Steel stared blankly at the wall as she kissed his shoulder.

"I am kind of going to miss the danger of going around with a married man." Arah joked.

He usually would've given her a chuckle at least, but he only felt sick.

"Hey, you okay?" She frowned, leaning over to look into his face. He felt her hand brush over his cheek, which had grown a rough layer of stubble in the past few days.

He really was about to be sick.

Steel pushed himself up clumsily, startling the Pantoran as he rushed to the fresher in time to make it to the toilet. He shook violently as he heaved his lunch into the bowl, head swimming and thoughts going a mile a minute. He only raised his head when he felt a cool hand running along his back, rubbing in soothing circles.

She was frowning down at him, concern evident in her lovely features,

"Poor thing, it's been a rough week for you, hasn't it?" She cooed.

He said nothing, but leaned away from her palm as she brought a rag down to wipe the bile from the sides of his mouth.

-

Steel let out a groan once he had shut the front door to Arah's apartment behind him. He wasn't really thinking, coming over here after what happened. He just didn't know what else to do.

Arah had been a source of comfort for him these past few months, made him feel good about himself and renewed his ego, but now it all just felt...flat.

Everything felt flat without you.

Without the promise of you being at the apartment when he returned from duty, without the lovely little smile you would give him when he walked through the door. Your laugh, your body, the way your eyes sparkled in the sunlight, the most beautiful and kind soul he had ever experienced.

He sniffed, tears welling in his eyes.

What had he done?

-

Steel was exhausted as he hefted his pack over his shoulder, eyes tired as he amended the catwalk onto the venator.

A group of his brothers stood talking at the edge of the hall, laughing at something one of them had said. As Steel approached, the group went silent, glaring unabashedly.

He winced at the looks of disdain and disgust his vode regarded him with as he passed.

It might hurt more if Steel wasn't already so disgusted with himself.

He knew the looks were warranted tenfold, cheating on one's cyare was one of the worst offenses a clone could commit in the eyes of the community, and Steel agreed.

Cheating was one of the most cowardly and cruel choices Steel had ever made, he knew.

He hated himself for it, but knew that wasn't good enough. Wallowing would do nothing for his girl, he needed to-

"Steel."

He looked up from his brewing, coming face to face with one of his squad, Wake.

"Vod-"

"Don't. Just," His brother sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as always he did when he felt a headache oncoming, "Shut up, for once."

Steel only nodded, waiting for whatever the other clone had to say.

"You've really done it now, Steel. Kriff, I knew you were having problems, but I never would have even considered- I didn't want to believe the rumors, but-"

Even his brother looked hurt when he uttered, "On her?"

"She was so bright, loving- Steel,"

"I know!" He snapped, "You don't think I know that?! She's the best thing to ever happen to me! I love-"

"What are you willing to do to get her back?"

Steel's ears and neck felt hot, burning behind his eyes like he had never felt before, his hands shook as he uttered, "Anything."

Wake passed him, shoulder-checking him for good measure, "Then you had better fix this."

-

Steel groaned into the emptiness of the office, slumping down into one of the swivel chairs and dropping his tray onto the desk in front of him with a clatter.

It had already been a long day and it wasnt even half over.

Dirty looks and coldly livid treatment from his brothers, even warranted, wore on the officer.

Besides his baby, the only support or community he was used to was from them, now he had neither.

He shook away that thought; no good moping about something he got himself into.

His attention was diverted anyways by the sound of the door opening with a clean whoosh and the sound of boots against durasteel.

Wake.

The clean-cut officer entered, shutting the door behind him and regarding his brother briefly.

He tossed the silver-haired clone something hefty in a paper bag before he dould utter a greeting.

"What-"

"Comms." Wake said simply, opening his lunch at the seat beside him.

"I already-"

His brother cut him off through a bite of sandwich, "Just turn it to channel three."

Steel did as he was told, eyes widening as he head your voice crackling to life over the speaker.

He wanted to sit there, close his eyes and just listen to whatever it was you had to say, imagine that the two of you were having one of your old lengthy conversations, but the blue-eyed clone snatched it away from him, switching it off.

Steel stood at that, trying to control himself and not jump at his brother for interrupting the first time he had gotten to hear you in days, but Wake wasn't impressed.

"You can't have it on for more than a few minutes, it's not hard to tell when commas are tapped when you're constantly being listened in on." He explained, waiting for his more volatile brother to sit back down and listen.

After taking a second to compose himself, he did, huffing nonetheless.

Your melodic voice rang in his ears, soothing and already lifting his mood.

You had a talent for doing that, even when you didn't mean to.

"-Steel. Steel!"

He opened his eyes, looking over at Wake, who was trying to get his attention, "Huh?"

His brother rolled his eyes, but snorted out a laugh.

"At least we know her voice still has that same effect on you."

Steel smiled as well, he knew it reminded of how he felt about his own cyare; a tall, pretty twi'lek woman with striking yellow skin and a gap toothed smile that made his brother visibly melt at the sight of.

Their girls had been friends, one of the only people Steel was okay with her being friends with, even if he was still a bit on edge when they had conversations alone.

"Anyways, these should help you keep a track on how she's doing, who she's with,"

Wake looked at him head on, "And hopefully help you from doing anything stupid that would scare her off even more."

He nodded quickly, giddy as his brother went back to his food. Too excited and hopeful to eat his own.

He grinned to himself, smiling for the first time in a week.

He was coming, sweetheart, and when he did, he would fix all of this. Attone for what he had done. Show you just how sorry he was. Put you right back where you were supposed to be; by his side.

And when he did, he would never let you go again.

Hi! Love your content and am excited to read more in the future!

I had a theory involving Order 66 so feel free not to answer it you don't want to delve into that territory. But I was wondering if the order might affect yanderes to a lesser degree, if any at all. The fact that they're able to have such obsessive feelings, and that they don't involve the Republic, already suggest that their inhibitor chips aren't working at full capacity.

Maybe they even use it as an excuse to whisk their darlings away somewhere, in the midst of all the chaos and confusion of a sudden regime change.

Thank you so much!! I love these kinds of questions so don't even worry!

In my eyes, it would be a pretty strong and turbulent inner battle for any clone, but a battle with only one outcome;

Their Cyare.

The clones, even their chip is in fully working order, would only be able to resist the pull to be with their darling for so long. In my book, a clone's obsession with family and love are the most important things he has. In other words; the urge to follow orders is strong, but the need for his darling is stronger.

I definitely think a lot of clones would smuggle their loves away in the chaos, more manipulative ones under the guise of protection and others simply picking you up and going "Karking finally!" Both relived that they can now love you openly and without the weight of a dying republic's programming weighing on their consciences.

Of course, that doesn't mean you're coming out completely unscathed.

Witnessing your friend or partner switch into a sleeper agent killing machine would be terrifying to anyone, much less someone as sweet and good-hearted as you! There would be a lot of apologizing on his end as soon (as he got ahold of himself again) But please, be patient with them, this was almost as scary for him as for you! Losing control, scaring you, maybe even almost hurting you?? No, he has to make sure this will never happen again.

Clones with cyares are the quickest to find ways to get their inhibitor chips out, not above holding medical professionals at blaster-point to get the job done if it means you're safe.

Don't worry dear, he knows he scared you back there with all that talk of "Good soldiers follow orders" and "A new Empire", but please,

Let him make it up to you ❤️
