Emperor Roderic of Estra stood on the balcony of his castle, gazing out at the kingdom he had ruled for over three decades. The kingdom was tranquil now, with no looming wars or internal strife. The years had brought him wisdom, and with wisdom came the weariness of age. At 47 his body was no longer what it once was. He was often ill, and though his physicians assured him he still had years ahead, but he felt the chill of death’s embrace drawing closer.
He had lived through much. His beloved wife, Queen Elara, had passed away five years prior, and while her death had left a void in his heart, he had come to terms with it. His son, Prince Adrian, was now old enough , married and ready to inherit the throne. Roderic had been content with the thought of stepping down, leaving the kingdom in the capable hands of his son, and quietly fading into the shadows of history.
But fate, as it often does, had different plans.
The sound of footsteps broke his reverie. Lord Alistair, one of his oldest and most cunning ministers, approached with his usual air of confidence. Alistair was a man who knew how to survive and thrive in the treacherous waters of court politics. He was also a man who, despite his unassuming appearance, harbored ambitions that far exceeded his station.
“Your Majesty,” Alistair said, bowing low. “I bring news that I believe will be of great interest to you.”
Roderic waved a hand, motioning for him to continue. He had little patience for Alistair’s games, but he had learned long ago that it was often wiser to let the man speak than to cut him off.
“My daughter, Y/N, has come of age, She is eighteen now, and I believe it is time for her to be married. As you know, my family has always been loyal to the crown, and I would be honored if she were to marry into the royal family.”
Roderic’s brow furrowed. He knew where this conversation was headed, and the idea filled him with disgust. Y/N was a child in his eyes, and the thought of marrying her was absurd. But Alistair was not a man who made suggestions lightly. There was always a motive behind his words.
“My son is already married,” Roderic replied, his tone sharp. “There is no place for your daughter at royal court.”
Alistair smiled, a thin, calculating expression that made Roderic’s stomach churn.
“Indeed, Prince Adrian is married. But with all due respect, Your Majesty, you are still the king. It is within your right to take another wife, plus men are never old enough to not marry.... the old age only applies to women...”
The audacity of the suggestion struck Roderic like a blow. The idea of marrying a girl who was young enough to be his daughter was repugnant. He had no desire for another wife, especially not one forced upon him by a power-hungry minister.
“No,” Roderic said firmly, turning his back on Alistair. “I will not marry your daughter. The matter is closed.”
But Alistair was not so easily dissuaded. Over the following weeks, he pressed the issue relentlessly, using every means at his disposal to sway the king. He spread rumors at court, and even hinted at potential alliances with foreign powers that could threaten Estra’s stability. The pressure mounted until Roderic found himself with no choice. To refuse Alistair any longer would be to risk peace'.
And so, with a heavy heart and a simmering anger, Roderic agreed to the marriage.

The ceremony was small and somber, a stark contrast to the grandeur of his first wedding. Y/N stood beside him, dressed in white, her eyes downcast and her expression unreadable. She did not speak, did not protest, and did not look at him. She was like a ghost, present but not truly there. Roderic’s resentment grew with every passing moment, his fury directed not at her, but at the situation that had trapped them both.
From the day they were wed, Roderic made his disdain clear. He refused to share a bed with her, instead confining her to a small chamber at the far end of the castle. He took every opportunity to humiliate her, belittling her in front of the court, mocking her silence, and treating her as nothing more than a pawn in Alistair’s game.
Y/N bore it all with a quiet grace that with even a complain. She never spoke back, never argued, and never asked for anything. Her indifference felt like a personal affront, as if she refused to acknowledge the power he held over her.
Despite his harsh treatment, she remained in the shadows, avoiding attention and slipping through the castle like a wraith. She was a constant reminder of the chain that Alistair had wrapped around his neck, and Roderic’s anger grew with each passing day.
Then came the night that would change everything.

Alistair, ever the manipulator, knew that his daughter needed to bear a child if he was to solidify her power at court. Without an heir, the marriage was meaningless, and his ambitions would be left unfulfilled. He devised a plan, one that would ensure his daughter produced the desired heir, whether she wanted or not.
He waited until Roderic was at his most vulnerable, during one of the king’s frequent bouts of illness. The physicians had prescribed a sleeping draught to ease the king’s pain, and it was this draught that Alistair tampered with. He added an aphrodisiac drug to the mixture, one that would cloud Roderic’s mind and render him helpless.
That night, Y/N was brought to the king’s chamber under the guise of duty, but in truth, she had been ordered by her father to do what was necessary. Roderic, disoriented and barely conscious, was unaware of her presence until it was too late. When he awoke the next morning, his memory of the night was hazy, but the sight of Y/N beside him filled him with a deep, nauseating guilt.
He had been used, manipulated into committing an act he could barely remember. His anger toward Alistair intensified, but he refused to acknowledge what had happened. He could not bear to face the reality of what he had done, and so he pushed it to the back of his mind, burying it beneath layers of denial.
Y/N, as always, said nothing. She simply rose from the bed, dressed in silence, and left the chamber without a word. For weeks, she continued to move through the castle like a shadow, her presence barely noticed by anyone.
Then, one day, she was gone.
Roderic discovered her disappearance too late when her maid came to his chambers, trembling and pale, to report that Y/N was nowhere to be found. Panic surged through him, though he refused to show it. He ordered his guards to search the castle, the grounds, and the surrounding villages, but there was no trace of her. It was as if she had vanished into thin air.
It was only weeks later that the truth came to light. A physician, summoned to treat one of the castle staff, let slip a piece of information that sent shockwaves through the court: Y/N was pregnant.
The news struck Roderic like a bolt of lightning. The child was his. The memory of that night, hazy and fragmented, came rushing back to him with brutal clarity. He had done this. He had driven her away, and now she was out there, carrying his heir. He didn't know where...
Guilt twisted into a dark obsession. He had to find her, to make things right, it was never her fault....or at the very least, to claim what was his. He sent out search parties, s anyone who could track her down. The weeks turned into months, and still, there was no sign of her.
Roderic’s mind began to unravel. His once-steady composure gave way to fits of rage, sleepless nights, and a growing guilt or worse, that she had found someone else to protect her. He imagined her with another man, raising his child, and the thought drove him to the brink of madness.

It was nearly a year after her disappearance when a scout finally returned with news. Y/N had been found, living in a small, remote village on the outskirts of the kingdom. Roderic wasted no time in setting out to retrieve her.
When he arrived at the village, his heart pounded in his chest, a mix of anticipation and dread. The village was small. He found her in a small, modest cottage at the edge of the village. He saw a young boy playing in the yard, his dark hair ,purple eyes and sharp features a mirror image of his own. This was his son, the heir he had never expected to have.
Roderic approached the boy, but when the child saw him, he backed away, his eyes wide with fear and suspicion. The boy’s reaction was a knife to Roderic’s heart, but he swallowed his pain and forced a smile.
“Hello, little one,” he said gently. “I’m—”
The boy turned and ran into the house before Roderic could finish his sentence. Roderic’s smile faltered, and he stood outside the cottage, feeling a strange mix of emotions. He had never imagined that the first encounter with his own son would be so cold, so distant. His heart ached, not just with guilt but with a longing he hadn't felt in years. He had to make things right, had to reclaim what he had lost.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward and knocked on the door. The sound echoed in the stillness of the village, and for a moment, he wondered if Y/N would even answer. But then the door creaked open, and there she was.
Y/N stood before him, her eyes wide with shock and fear in her eyes . She was thinner than he remembered, her face pale and drawn, but she was still beautiful in a way that made his breath catch. The sight of her, after all these months of searching, sent a surge of emotion through him that he could barely contain.
"Y/N," he said, his voice low and strained. "I've come to take you home."
"This is my home now, Your Majesty," she replied, her voice flat and emotionless. "I have no desire to return to that prison you call castle."
Roderic felt madness in his head. He had expected resistance, but not this cold, unwavering refusal. He had imagined her grateful to see him, perhaps even relieved that he had came to take her back and acknowledge her. But instead, she was rejecting him- rejecting his authority, his power, and even his presence.
"You belong with me," he insisted, his voice rising with softness. "You are my wife, the mother of my son. You cannot deny that ."
Her eyes flashed with fear as she hide her son behind her.she took a step back, as if to put more distance between them.
"I never chose to be your wife,I was forced into that marriage, just as I was forced into your bed, I don't want riches... I just want to be left alone."
Her words struck him like a physical blow, and for a moment, he was speechless. Even her father had never truly considered her feeling. But now, hearing her speak so plainly, he realized the depth of the pain and resentment she harbored toward him.
But even as her words stung, Her defiance, her refusal to yield to him, only made him want her more. It was as if the more she resisted, the more he was determined to possess her.
"I will not leave you here to raise our son in this... this place. He belongs at court, where he can be educated and prepared for his future."
Firmly, stepping closer to her he said .
"He belongs with me," Y/N countered, her voice stronger now, as if she had finally found the courage to stand up to him. "I birth him.... He won't need you."
Roderic's patience snapped, grabbing her arm, pulling her toward him with more force than he intended. She gasped, her body tense with fear and anger. He could see the resistance in her eyes, the determination to fight him, and it only fueled his desire.
"You will come with me," he repeated, his voice low and dangerous. "Or I will take you by force.
Her eyes widened in alarm, and for a moment, he thought she might try to break free, to run from him. But then, as if all the fight had drained out of her, she went limp in his grasp, her eyes dull and lifeless. It was as if she had resigned herself to whatever fate awaited her, the same room... The same bed...
Roderic's grip loosened slightly, his anger dissipating into something more complicated-an emotion he could not quite name. He had won, but the victory felt hollow. He had forced her submission, but at what cost?
He led her back to the castle, their son in tow. The boy sobbed and struggled in his mother's lap, trying to escape the arms of the soldier who carried him, but Roderic ignored his protests. His focus was on Y/N, who walked beside him in silence, her head bowed and her eyes fixed on the ground. She was like a doll, lifeless and compliant, and it unnerved him more than he cared to admit.
When they arrived at the castle, he took her directly to the bedchamber that had once been hers, the room she had abandoned when she fled. He locked the door behind them, ensuring that she would have no means of escape.
"You will stay here with me...your things would be moved to my bed chamber...
he told her, his voice firm but softer than before. "You and our son. You will be cared for, treated like the royality you are. But you are not to leave...."
She did not respond, her gaze still fixed on the floor. He waited for some sign of acknowledgment , but when none came, he turned and left the room, locking the door behind him.

Over the following days, Roderic did everything in his power to make Y/N comfortable, to show her that he cared for her and their son. He had the best foods prepared for her, brought in luxurious clothing and furnishings, and even arranged for musicians to play outside her chamber to soothe her nerves. But none of it seemed to reach her. She remained distant, her spirit as cold and unreachable as ever.
Frustration gnawed at him, turning his obsession into something darker. He had taken her back, given her everything she could want, and still she refused to acknowledge him. She refused to see him as her husband, as the father of her child, as the man who held her fate in his hands.
And so, his thoughts turned to the one thing he had not yet tried.
If she would not give the attention that he attention he craved, he would force her to need him. He would bind her to him in the most primal way possible: through their children. If she bore him more heirs, if she was constantly pregnant with his seed, she would have no choice but to stay by his side, to depend on him, to finally give him the attention he so desperately sought.
The plan took root in his mind, growing more twisted same as his obsession with her . Taking her until she can't feel her body, going extent to fill her up and call physicians to make sure she is ok.He was always gentle, always careful not to hurt her there was a possessiveness in his gaze.
Y/N never resisted. She lay still and silent, her body a passive vessel for his desires. She never spoke, never cried out, never gave any indication that she felt anything at all. It was as if she had shut herself off from the world, retreating into a place where he could not reach her.

One night she was visited by her step son, the future king and crown prince of the kingdom. He told her that he can't see his father's mistreatment to her anymore and he would help her to run away.she thanked him a lot . But unknown to them that a person was listening to them.
Roderic with madness in his eyes and the rage of betrayal by his own son was fuming . And before the plan of running away could have taken place the news of the crown prince being arrested and taken to be excuted reach y/n.
No amount of begging worked . But then when she proposed that she would do anything came, her body shuddered badly as she saw the shine in Roderic's eyes.
"Really?? "
He asked getting closer to you slowly. He kneeled down and started laughing, tears in his eyes as his head rested on your lap. His arms hugging around your waist tightly. When you said nothing he looked in your eyes and asked.
"Are you really saying that?? Would you really do anything!?? Then would you stop looking lifeless??? Would you love me back and give me attention??? Would you not look at me as if I'm a monster??? Say my empress??? Would you do that??? If your would then I would consider releasing that traitor of a son. Who tried to take you away from me."
Your eyes looked dull for a sec but then you said in a firm voice smiling down at him.
"Yes my husband ... I would..."
He saw your face and hugged you close. Not knowing that he had taken last hope from you and gave you reason to do something that noone had ever thought you would.
After the prince was released, Roderic thought you would ignore him again but he can't even tell how drunk he was on your expressions. Always fluttering your invisible wings like a butterfly around him. Hugging him , pecking his face, innocently seducing him to the bed.
And right now you asked him if he could have tea with you... How can he refused his sweet wife when she is giving him all the attentions that he craved. That's what led him right now , in his office, in the couch as you pour tea in two cups sitting on his lap.
His head thrown back as you unintentionally grounded on his boner. You squealed as he grabbed your waist and tried to pull you in his embrace, but slapped his hands away. He groaned but you soon handed him the tea. He smiled taking a sip.
It's only a week and the change in you was suspecting but he... Can't say anything to you... Suddenly you stood up from his lap after finishing the cup. Causing him to stand to . But you pushed him on the sofa as you backed from him.
Suddenly he coughed and blood came out of his mouth. His eyes widened but he looked at you concerned..... the blood dripping from the corner of your mouth too. You smiled ,the hatred in your eyes visible. He staggered to you, his senses numbing.
But you backed away to the door falling at your feet and looking at him. He was not any better dragging himself to you.. to hold you ... To touch you.
"Why??? "His voice came
"I just wanted my freedom and you hated it...."
With that your head hung and you took your last breath. His eyes blurry still he reached you as he hugged you close as if even in death he doesn't want to let you go.

The maid's scream made the palace shuddered as she reported the butler of the scene he saw in the emperors office. The dead bodies of the emperor and his wife on the floor as the ruler hugged you close . You eye opened as if you were looking at the void. As if Searching for your freedom....
The prince closed them with heavy heart. You remembered your promise...now he need to fulfill his...to keep your son and his half brother safe from the world.

Your string of fate shined the most after that accident. In your world every person had the string of fate attached to their little finger the other end attached to the individuals Soulmate. Your thread never shined . Your family always told that your time would come. You would find your person soon.
But one day you felt a painful snap at your finger you heart hurts as hell.... The same pain that other discribe when they suffer at the death of their soulmate. You curled in the corner cried a lot. But a day after you felt a tug in the string.... Then another.
And then the pain suddenly vanished leaving you with the thread more responsive and shining in bright red. As if you could feel each thump and breath your soulmate take. Ignoring everything your heart was happy and excited to meet your soulmate.
Roderic was looking at you as you happily tell your friends that you felt your soulmate, aka him happy and that the string are shining so bright.the friends happy for you as well as concerned as it's unusual for the string to shine so much...
He looked at his Little finger the knot that he made to insure that the thread won't disconnect from his thread ... He smiled .
"A man and woman were found dead in an alleyway, there are no sign of hurt or murder but the thread of fate are snapped as if cut off forcefully . The police is searching for the culprits hoping to find them soon."
You gasped at the news..
"people can really be worse right??? Who would want the soulmates to be apart???"
You asked your mom and she sighed.
Yes... How can people be so heartless to try and take you away from him??? He won't let you go in this life too ..
