hear me out on this, the way qfoolish and qvegetta gave love and needed to be loved was incompatible but that is what to me made their relationship so interesting and beautiful but equally devastating
due to his trauma from past relationships qvegetta needed frequent affirmations that qfoolish still loves him and won't leave him, especially words of affirmations. the way qfoolish loves is quieter but in no way any less wholeheartedly devoted, he expresses his care through actions. he remembers the little Spanish phrases qvegetta taught him months ago, he initiates a kiss for the first time, he works tirelessly to build Vegetta a statue as a gift. But qvegetta needs words.
And what's most heartbreaking is that they had began to communicate their needs to eachother, as much as foolish struggled with articulating his affections and offering words of affirmation he was trying for qvegetta, they could've made it.
My personal interpretation of qvegetta dissapearing is that he couldn't cope with it all. To flirt and have a boyfriend is one thing then suddenly someone's in love with him and even worse so, he's in love with them and that terrifies him, deeply. Because he cannot be left again. And so with that fear, despite that everything is going right and that he's finally found the person who cradles his twice shattered heart like in the thousands of years they've existed that qvegettas fragile love could be the only thing that's ever truly mattered, Vegetta can't let himself be loved. He can't let himself be left. And so he leaves instead, letting the cycle continue.
I love the thought of Eddie waking up and looking down at his eaten chest and being like “awh fuck yea half top surgery” and just say some dumb shit like “ugh.. I’m too ashamed to be this deformed 😔 please remove the other one just so I’m not a disgusting half monster 😢” just fuckin lying through his teeth so the doctors get that BULLSHIT off his chest
