Becca pointed out to me that in an early episode of Gravity Falls, The Legend of the Gobblewonker, Stan has a licence plate with “Stanley Mobile” on it. (“STNLYMBL”)
Which is rather strange, considering Stan’s full name is Stanford.
I’ve seen theories, or perhaps just headcanons, floating around that Stan is a twin. Stan must have (or must have had) a sibling who is Dipper and Mabel’s grandmother or grandfather. Twins often run in the family, and “Stanley” and “Stanford” sounds like a cute pair of names for twin boys.
I don’t know if those idea are substantiated or not. I don’t know if the family will ever be touched on or if they’re significant at all, but it seems like a pretty weird error to make for the animator to confuse “Stanley” with “Stanford”

rewatching gravity falls rn and i just realized that the reason stan knew for certain gideon was a fraud despite being fully aware of gravity falls’ supernatural phenomenon is because gideon called him stanford. not stanley. it wasn't him putting up his skeptic/aloof front he could just genuinely tell gideon couldn't read his mind because gideon fell for his lie/never called his bluff
in like 5-8 years when gen alpha starts really making fun of gen z no one is allowed to complain because like 99% of people do nothing but treat those kids like shit
alex hirsch truly is like. the guy ever. he created one of if not the most renowned and successful disney tva shows. he clowns on said network. he won his high school’s bird calling contest. he hates trump and is always advocating for people to vote. also prank calls republican/maga hotlines and was on the washington post for such. he voices half the cast of his own show and does a deranged mickey mouse voice he uses for like two separate shows. he owns a giant taxidermy buffalo. he and his sister were on an international improv team in high school. disney censored practically all queer themes in his show and now he has a nyt best seller (and created the website plus recent interviews ect ect) that imply there was something going on between that fuck ass triangle and ford. a straight man creating good old man yaoi. creates the craziest rabbit holes to send the fandom down probably primarily fueled by adhd and coffee. he probably has his flannel sewn to his body atp and has thousands of sticky hands on the wall in his house. i could go on but he’s just truly such a interesting guy
As a continuation of my “let Dipper say Fuck” and “let Stan say Bitch” agenda, I don’t think Bill should be allowed to swear. I think he should be perfectly aware of the concept and vocabulary of swear words but he’s just physically incapable of swearing due to being stuck in a kid’s show. And he’s really, really, really mad about that.
"bill escapes the theraprism / must live in the mystery shack as the next part of his program" genre of billford fanfics are well and good, but has anyone considered the inverse: by some interdimensional mistake, ford is trapped as a patient in the theraprism. the pines family must find a way to save him meanwhile bill is OVER THE MOON. takes every opportunity to be the worst cellmate ever, sabotaging him to get him sent to the wellness void etc... shit now i wanna write it

But then you give me a roleplay character he does and it’s all I think about. Like what do you mean that your a silly guy trying his best but your breaking at the seams, trying to fill the cracks with dirt and mud so that others just look over it.
