"Over time, scientists were able to create a drug that allowed all these partially deceased people to regain consciousness. You're getting that cure too."

Simon's face suddenly hardened.

"I'm not dead."

"No?"

"No."

"You sound pretty confident. Well, like I said, we call people like you partially deceased."

"I'm not dead," Simon repeated. "Neither fully nor partially."

I know it's been almost a week, but my silly little "zombie-esque" Wilmon AU is now finished! It's based on british TV series called In the Flesh, but according to all the lovely people in the comments you'll be fine without knowing the original.

"And what makes you alive, Simon?"

They all sound intriguing but I'm gonna ask about Beauty and the Beast and Simon being the soul of the kingdom (yes, please...?)

I have a brief summary for this work (which, along with the doc name, will kill the intrigue):

Wilhelm follows his brother in his so-far-succesful war campaign against the southern kingdom. Rumor has it, the king of this country possesses a treasure of some sort, something that brings prosperity to his lands. The treasure is nowhere to be found, but in the dungeons of the castle they find a mysterious young man who was left there many years ago. Perhaps he may know something useful… 

Beauty and the Beast will be more or less classics, a curse, a prince and an unfortunate traveler. However, in this story the true love's kiss won't end the curse. It will take Wilhelm something else to break free. I have a summary for it as well:

Many years ago, the royal family suffered a great sorrow: they lost both of their sons. The eldest prince, Erik, died in an accident, and the youngest, Wilhelm, soon disappeared. There were rumors that he was dead, but his grief-stricken parents refused to admit it. The King and Queen left their home, where they had endured so much sorrow, and the abandoned castle is still considered cursed. 

Simon is not interested in superstitions and legends. He is merely seeking shelter from the weather that has caught up with him on his journey. However, he quickly realizes that he is not alone.
