There has been some light drama happening between one of my mutuals ( @silvashapeshifter ) and a group of proshippers on this app recently, and i decided to speak up about this.

My opinion and my DNI can be summarized by saying "illegal or problematic shipping is something somewhat bad,it makes me uncomfortable therefore stay away please."

The argument with the proshippers that my mutual was facing was that "proship doesn't mean problematic shipping, it just means open to all shipping!"

Okay. Awesome. If that's how the non-problematic ones want to define themselves, all great, I support you guys to a certain level.

Except the problematic ones don't bother using a term specific for them. They call themselves proshippers, that's facts. "Emm you say "Proshippers DNI" but you dont know what proship achtually means!!" I do, but sorry y'all, you are under the same term and I want to keep myself SAFE. I cannot stop using that term because a few of you sticked to the original meaning while a disturbing amount of them romantically ship minors and adults/family members... and interacted with me a few times.

I am not pro bullying, doxxing, harassing anyone. I want my page to stay a safe place for me. And that includes calling problematic shippers proshippers until their community collectively decides to use a new name.

*drops the mic and dramatically leaves the stage*

Also even if they do like that kind of ships, it’s completely irrelevant. You mind your own business? You don’t go out of your way to harass people? You’re not openly calling them kid fiddlers? You mute tags and block people? Congrats, that’s what proship means. And seriously I mean it, go on. Block. Mute. Set down your boundaries! I encourage you, I want you to do this

I do block and am dedicated in that, I just wanted to speak up about that tiny issue that exists in this argument of how to call problematic shipping.

Non problematic shippers can't expect people to read their minds and be kind/accepting to them when they share a name with the problematic ones. No idea if Im being clear..

People are allowed to like fiction you are uncomfortable with. You are allowed to feel uncomfortable with fiction other people like. But in the end, it is just fiction. No one is being hurt. No real person is a victim. You should start curating your own online experience. Block and mute and move on. You'll feel so much better when you stop wasting time whining about what fiction other people like.

You seem a lot more dedicated in this whole thing than Silva and I ever were if you ask me. I was literally just saying I block and mute, but the one time I started stating boundaries you jumped in ; then ask me to move on.

"No real person is hurt" is an outright lie because young people exposed to proshipping might get biased ideas/REAL people have been hurt by issues like this.

Either you get off the anonymous asks and start being proud of your statements so i can block you LIKE YOU'RE TELLING ME, either you stop this at all. Have a good day /gen
