Bodhi Rook - Rogue One - Asexual
sorry I lied earlier this is the last Star Wars one, pinky promise
Bodhi!!! An ace pilot, hehe.
This one is mainly vibes but also it's the highest honor I could bestow upon him. I also love the Rogue One crew a lot so someone was gonna get ace-ified so why not? He'd totally make at least one ace pilot joke, I can feel it in my bones
He deserves the world <3 I'm glad to give him the wonderful gift of being ace because being ace is awesome

As someone who occasionally goes through hundreds of terf blogs at a time to flag them on shinigami eyes and block them, just a heads up there's been a rising trend of terfs trying and divide (and conquer) the aspec community by calling some of us fakers or appropriators to asexuality and aromantism (especially targeting gray/demi people, always in the name of aro and ace people), and just a friendly reminder that 2016-2018 ace discourse was a recruitment tactic by terfs, and this is just the same exclusionist rhetoric as last time, once again on whichever group of people in the queer community they think they can get away with targeting this time. All aspecs are a part of the aspec community regardless of where on the spectrum they fall. Don't let them divide us. Stay safe out there
Yeah. Basically someone made a comment that she was arguably already canon ace because of how her relationship motivation in ‘West Coast Avengers’ could be interpreted in-line with her solo series having had no romantic storylines, then an article mentioned that and it could be used as a reference, which gave her article the category and in-turn meant she began showing up in the search results more and more. She then ended up in the background of the Pride issue in what were arguably the ace flag colour scheme, fanart started picking up, and by the next year she was made canon. The sequence of events inevitable to anyone paying attention, but out of nowhere to anyone else. Earliest incident I can tell someone referring to her as asexuality in a nutshell on the open internet was in and around 2018. There is a fun argument somewhere on tumblr of this one user who would keep reiterating that Gwen wasn’t canon ace when people were putting her on their lists, and this other user would keep rebutting that the discussion was fine, and she wasn’t explicitly canon anything else either, and then here we went about it to the here and now.
Ahh gotcha gotcha. That's super interesting! Quite the journey to her canonization it seems, but I'm glad it happened however it did. Thanks for all the info, anon! /gen
