Why are right wingers like this. Genuinely why the fuck are they like this. Look at this review and these comments and tell me these people aren’t genuinely nuts. These are the same people who think liberals/leftists are all insane emotionally unstable people (if they even consider us people). But they genuinely cannot fathom watching a film if it even so dares have diverse people and relationships in it. Literally, every time I search a film now I get in the suggested searches “is *insert random new movie* woke?.” Anything that doesn’t cater SOLELY to white, straight cis able bodied people (mostly men), it gets considered woke, doesn’t even have to be something actually woke like being against capitalism or whatever else. You can literally have a joke about a teen girl fawning over another teen girl, and it’s woke Bc lord forbid we acknowledge gay people fucking exist. Even worse you got one dips*it in the comments talking about “EW interracial couples” genuinely fucking punch yourself until you get a broken nose you ugly person. I pray. I fucking pray to the lord that one day, people will just fucking let go of the past and just accept the world for what it is instead of fighting for something that means absolute Jack shit. One day these people might possibly have a gay kid, or a trans kid, or a kid who simply is in love with someone who isn’t the same race as them or even religion as them. I fucking hope that’s the final straw for them to realize it’s not worth being so closed minded and reactionary. If it is not, then I’m praying for those kids. This needs to fucking change. I don’t get being so vitriolic towards a movie, or any piece of media for that matter, for harmlessly acknowledging that people different from you exist. That is a depressing life to live.

I know I’m about to sound annoying but I find it odd how people are so aggressive about wanting women characters to be lesbians even if one or both in a scenario have HEALTHY straight relationships. And it wouldn’t bother me so much if people didn’t say it’s sexist for it to happen the opposite way (like idk it feels weird how people have made lesbian/sapphic stuff seem like it’s supposed to be taking digs at men or something like that like “oh she should leave him she’s being crushed by heteronormativity” but people would be mad if it’s the opposite Bc apparently men can’t be negatively affected by heteronormativity and lord forbid a woman be depicted as the negative factor in a relationship). What brought this on is people legit saying Gloria from Barbie should have left her husband for Barbie like??? Yeah sure, leave the healthy relationship for a woman you just met. I don’t want to hear anyone saying I’m anti-lesbian or sexist for this. This is genuinely frustrating. Why can’t we just support lesbians without taking digs at men? It just comes off as weirdly petty and cynical like you can’t just be positive without putting someone down. If the opposite was done with mlm couples I’d also be annoyed by it as a Pan guy. I just want positive vibes, I don’t want to put women down. I don’t want to put anyone down. Let’s be better please
