does anyone ever think about the fact that ginny is a huge animal lover and that’s a quality we see from her in many of the books, she plays with crookshanks often, she named ron’s owl, she tells fred off for being tactless about scabber’s ‘death’, she gets herself a pygmy puff and the fact that she must’ve been absolutely horrified when she realised she had murdered animals (the roosters) in cold blood even though she didn’t know she was doing it until afterwards??? like someone protect this girl this would have been traumatising to realise like. waking up covered in blood and feathers?? i want to cry for her. also beasts by @whinlatter perfectly captures her love for animals and i just think we should all think about this more because i do
If Ember and Randall were not there, would Cassian snatch Nesta from the House and take her on another hike for making Rhys furious, do you think?
Chapter 21 of ACOFAS - Cassian's refusal to leave Nesta alone.
"I'll walk you home." She looked him over. "I'm fine."
Nesta held her ground, proud as an Illyrian. More vicious, too. "Go back into the house."
Nesta lasted all of a block, the green-roofed houses merry and still full of song and laughter, before she halted. Whirled on him. "Go back to the house."
Another grin as he lifted the small, wrapped parcel. "Your Solstice present." "I don't want one."
Nesta fell into step beside him, huffing as she kept up with his long strides. "I don't want anything from you."
Even as she said, "I've made my thoughts clear enough on what I want from you."
Cassian followed, hating himself for it. "You could at least come live at the House," he began, and she whirled on him. "Stop," she snarled.
"Stop following me. Stop trying to haul me into your happy little circle. Stop doing all of it."
A void seemed to enter those eyes. An endless depthless void. She only said, "Go home, Cassian."
It was instinct to lunge for her free hand. Her gloved fingers scraped against his calluses, but he held firm. "Talk to me. Nesta. Tell me-" She ripped her hand out of his grip.
Then Cassian launches the gift into the Sidra and we're supposed to believe he was a victim in this situation? My guy, Nesta told you to leave/said she wanted nothing A TOTAL OF TWELVE TIMES in one conversation.
And I get it - "it's rude to decline gifts". Except it's NOT rude when you've set a boundary with somebody multiple times and they keep trying to push it. Y'all scare me.
Now compare this to Queen of Shadows, where Rowan quietly tells Aelin to talk to him. He grips her elbow, and when she yanks it away, he immediately backs off and follows "a respectful distance behind". (Thank you to @journalofjewels for bringing this up!)
I have no idea what overcame SJM when she wrote that N*ssian moment, because it wasn't cute, it was fucking creepy and annoying.

They would have all understood her, they would have given her the time, the space and the support she needed. Not the tough love BS they gave her.

Often overlooked by everyone. Nobody seems to realize that seers are one of the most powerful beings. They excel in observation, manipulating futures if they please… I wonder if she can commune with gods as they are historically known to.
Elain has a power with endless possibilities. She can challenge fate.
Her story has the possibility of having the most creative plot twists, betrayals, and cliff hangers. I cannot wait for her story. I hope SJM doesn’t hold back.

I truly think Dusk Court’s potential heirs are Mor, Azriel, and Nesta. And Rhys will do fight for it because it’s part of the Night Court. Now that Bryce is gone, I think all four will feel the pull of Dusk clearly. I can hear the sound “ they both reached for the gun” for Dusk Court. It’s bound to be very very interesting.
I think that while everyone keeps talking about the Rhys vs Nesta conflict, the real conflict, I feel, will be Rhys vs Azriel and Mor. I think there is a lot of bad blood between the 3 of them. Plus, I think they are all Starborn and have claims on various Courts.

Dropping a very special Sketch-a-wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August! The winning request was to illustrate an off-page scene from The Folk of the Air series, when Cardan was writing his letters to Jude. I countered that Cardan went through the five stages of grief writing those letters, and each deserved it's own illustration. (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance) You'll also notice some familiar outfits throughout! Have a great weekend. :)
Did anyone else notice how in the Prisoner’s Throne Jude and Cardan seemed to be slightly different?
Not in a OOC way, but… more like each other.
Jude is more talkative, and can now hold court better. She’s better at formal dinners and even more sassy than she was, which is so typical of Cardan.
Cardan is more prone to violence.
He couldn’t even lift a sword properly, but now can fight even when injured?

Azriel is a Swiftie, confirmed (Gwyn introduced him)—he listens to the ‘reputation’ album on repeat daily.
A fun little fall inspired modern Gwyn and Azriel appreciating (loving) each other! Azriel is someone who becomes dedicated to the person that he is interested in, and I see him leaving marks of his lover all over his social media, house, and even phone case. Azriel is truly a, “that’s my girl,” kind of male.

SJM wrote the Ember bonus chapter to perfectly showcase the hypocrisy of the IC. They only reacted the way they did because it was Nesta who acted. They would have never reacted that way if it was anyone else. If Feyre had been the sole person who could summon and control the Mask, and she chose to give it to Bryce, the IC would have understood. Rhysand can use the "Nesta risked Prythian" line to try and justify his behavior, but him and Feyre have risked Prythian more times than Nesta has.
Feysand literally released death-gods onto Prythian during the war with Hybern, hoping that they could control them. Considering Feyre couldn't even control Bryaxis, I highly doubt they would have been able to control death-gods, but they released them from confinement anyway because they deemed the risk to Prythian to be worth it. It ultimately was, and the death-gods were killed in battle. But was Feysand ripped to shreds because they risked Prythian? No.
Feyre released - and subsequently lost - Bryaxis, so now Fear itself is roaming free throughout Prythian. Was Feyre ripped to shreds or threatened with punishment because of it? Nope. The IC treat it like it's a joke.
Feysand gave the Cauldron - the very kill switch of Prythian - to Miryam and Drakon, hoping they can protect it, but once again it is a huge risk to Prythian. And a decision that Feysand did not have a right to make since the Cauldron does not belong to the Night Court, and nor does it effect only the Night Court. But did Feysand answer to every person in Prythian for what they did? No. Were they ripped to shreds or threatened with punishment or possible execution? Nope.
Could you imagine if the IC had punished or executed Nesta and then Bryce shows up. "Hey guys, Nesta and I defeated the Asteri. They won't be a threat to you ever again." How does the IC even come back from this? An "I'm sorry," won't cut it. They completely jumped the gun and now they look like fools.
Only Nesta would be treated in such a way by the IC. SJM went to great lengths to show that Nesta is not a part of the IC's family. And that's fine and dandy, but she needs to get out of the Night Court. I think the IC's treatment of Nesta will serve as a catalyst for her Starborn journey, which ultimately will take her to the Dusk Court.
