Absolutely priceless to me that Jude only realised she's in Cardan's room in Hallow Hall because she saw his closet.
Like the school books did not raise any flags at all. Why wouldn't faeries that went to that place for nothing more than partying and getting high, have their homework spread out on the table?
But the second she laid eyes in that wardrobe she really went "No bitch dresses THAT extra even in Elfhame besides THAT ONE!"

alice in wonderland: why it’s cardan’s fav book

cardan’s favorite book is alice in wonderland, right? which is the same book where he proceeded to write jude’s name (flashbacks to the audiobook 💀)
but what is alice in wonderland about? it’s about a young girl thrown into this magical and fantastical world so different from her own and who had to use her own wits and strengths to get around in a world in which she is extremely disadvantaged. sound familiar??
like no wonder cardan couldn’t stop thinking about her when she was practically bringing his favorite story to life. and he wrote her name over and over in that book specifically because it reminded him of her and his- let’s just say complicated- feelings for her.

One thing I like is that Taryn knew sword fighting too. Too often in books, the bold sister is training to fight, and the more gentle sister doesn’t know how to fight. I’m glad Mordoc taught her too. Even if she never actively practiced it after training.

Dropping a very special Sketch-a-wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August! The winning request was to illustrate an off-page scene from The Folk of the Air series, when Cardan was writing his letters to Jude. I countered that Cardan went through the five stages of grief writing those letters, and each deserved it's own illustration.
