If i had a penny for every time one of my comfort musicals gets turned into a oscarbait disappointing movie musical, id have two pennies.

Which is two pennies too many.

the brilliance of cats (2019) was that it so blindingly posed itself as oscarbait when in actuality it’s garbeled nonsense . this also applies to the dear evan hansen movie but the distinction is that the rum tum tugger is not in it
