As Watson Bellows Holmess Name Repeatedly Over The Falls, We See Holmes Clinging To The Hillside Some
“As Watson bellows Holmes’s name repeatedly over the falls, we see Holmes clinging to the hillside some distance away, watching his friend. At one moment it almost seems as though he is about to respond with a cry of ‘Watson’, but then he stops himself. Brett explained: ‘That was deliberate. It wasn’t in the script but I just wanted to show that Holmes had affections for Watson and for a fleeting second they almost get the better of his practical mind. But they don’t. [Large Brett grin.] It is a moment.’”

i think what would be super cool would be if after the inevitable 'final problem' sherlock & co episode, if instead of the next episode being 'the empty house', they follow the books* so to speak, and have the next bunch of cases be from a back catelogue? like audio from cases that john had recorded previously but hadn't published, but he decides to release them to honour sherlock's 'memory'. then you could have cutaways to the present where you really get to feel john and mariana's grief, and let them, (and the audience) really feel the loss of where sherlock should be, before his eventual return.
*note, when i say 'follow the books', i don't mean make me wait 10 entire years for the reunion, although that would be low-key iconic tbh

dont lie john, we all know you only own three shirts

'The Disappearance of Sherlock Holmes'
It's starts with a letter from Sherlock to Dr. Watson. Fun one, but 2 riddles were annoyingly difficult. Solved it, but it took us 210 minutes. 😅
Granada Holmes enjoyers do yourselves the favor of listening and reading this play. It's a treat, I tell you, a real treat!

Finding out that this play existed was one of the best days ever. I can't believe this is a thing that actually happened, I literally think about it daily, what a cool thing. This one is up at the top of my time machine list (the one where I discover time travel and only use it to go see shows and concerts in the past) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just thinking about Jeremy Brett's voice (as Holmes !) booming across a theater that I am sitting in gives me chills.
I know I'm not the first person to post about this play, but if even one Granada Holmes fan sees this post and gets to discover this play, I think that would be pretty neat.
