Helena - machete - like the comment above. It's a pretty smart choice because depending on the island it can be used to kill animals, cut down vegetation, a weapon for any hostiles, and it just needs to be maintained. Good for survival.

Dick - a SatPhone. The most practical. It will get a call to someone and him out of there the quickest. He isn't there to survive he is there to get out as quick as possible. He knows a lot of people that could fly to his location and get him.

Tim - Steph. He was overthrowing it a bit and could have probably of choosen something that was more practical, but one and off throughout canon Steph has been close with Tim. Also there was the time that he would have literally died if not for Steph, so you know it's kinda sweet. Also having two people working together in some cases can up the chance of survival, because there are some things easier done with two people.

Steph - The TARDIS. Get them out of there quickly for sure. I don't have any other comments on it though.

Babs- Laptop fully charged. Depends on if island is connected to a network or if her laptop is tricked out with Sat stuff (honestly probably is). Practical and will get her out of there, if not than there could have been a better item.

Jason - Pistol. As comment says above that has between 8 to 18 rounds and he didn't ask for reloads. Could be used as a Blunt instrument but seriously could have choosen a lot better of an item.

hello b*tfam tumblr pls don’t send me death threats but here is bruce’s children ranked from who i believe is his favorite to his least favorite

1. dick

i think this one speaks for itself tbh. i don’t think you can read any comics featuring the two of them or even comics where bruce mentions him and not come out thinking dick is his favorite. bc dick has the unique and unfortunate distinction of being not just bruce’s son, but his son-brother-friend-emotional-rock. dick knows him better than anyone in the universe. that’s why he’s so willing to drop everything whenever he feels like bruce needs his help. even when bruce won’t ask it of him. even when it’s to his own personal detriment. because if not dick, then who?

2. cassandra

i think a lot of ppl say cass is bruce’s favorite because their relationship is so unique that it’s hard to describe. i think he and cass are the most alike, so he’s able to relate to her in a way that he can’t with his other children. they share the same unyielding values. they share the same self-destructive behaviors that neither of them can recognize as being self-destructive. they share the same inability to reach out to others. and most importantly, cass understands batman in the same way bruce does. it’s not healthy, but that’s par for the course when it comes to bruce’s relationships right?

3. jason

this is gonna be a controversial one especially to my mutuals bc i know a lot of you don’t like jason (neither do i lol). but you need to separate the resurrected jason from the memory of jason bc that’s what bruce does. the way part of bruce is still stuck in crime alley watching his parents die, there’s also a part of him still digging his son out of the rubble. he does a remarkably good job at keeping the memory of the young and happy jason alive in his head while the actual jason is running around gotham killing people. their relationship can sour but that memory cannot be touched. that’s why the memorial case stays up. this doesn’t change anything.

4. tim

another controversial one here. we must dismantle fanon’s belief that bruce and tim always had a father/son relationship. we must remember that tim had a father for the majority of the time that he was robin. dick was tim’s brother, but bruce was not tim’s father. that came later. tim having a living father didn’t stop bruce from growing to love and care for him, but it allowed him to keep some level of emotional distance. because another thing we also must remember is the ways bruce changed after jason died. how do you stop blaming yourself for your son’s death? how do you let another child take up the same mantle? what if you get him killed too?

5. damian

let me start off by saying i do believe that bruce loves damian so much. i also believe love and like are not the same thing. bruce has had conflicts with all of his children, but the difference between them and damian is that he’s had a lot of good times with them too. that’s why they’re all so loyal to him despite his glaring flaws. bruce and damian didn’t really have that. it’s been tense since day 1, and every time they seem to make any progress, it’s all undone. and if i’m being honest, i think sometimes it disturbs bruce to look at damian and see parts of himself that he’s always hated. maybe their relationship would be easier if he could only see talia.

ok ok so the batman beyond cartoon is set around the 2020s and the word “schway” is slang that the kids use in the show which has almost THE EXACT SAME MEANING THAT “SLAY” DOES NOW

thinking about the part in batgirl 2000 where babs and bruce are arguing about whether or not the video of cass's first murder is real or not. the fact that bruce went directly to the source of the video (cain) and didn't ask if it was faked but rather how. the fact that cain told him to his face that it was real and bruce still refused to believe it. the fact that babs believes it's real and still loves cass and tells her that it was not her fault. the fact that bruce cannot accept that cass is a killer, because he refuses to believe that someone who has taken a life could ever be as dedicated to the mission as cass is. the fact that cass's dedication stems directly from her desire to never see anyone experience what the man she killed experienced in his last moments.

Why do I ship TimSteph?

Because they fundamentally changed the other for better and worse they are so interconnected that to write one or the other out of their stories would be to get rid of a huge chunk of their lives and the choices they made and the people they started to grow into being.

They are the on again off again but still care deeply even if they can be a bit misguided about it pairing.

I don't see them as an endgame but they are the comfort that they keep coming back too. If there has been one ship that has always been present even as I've gotten older and read more stories and matured it's TimSteph. They work as friends, the work as lovers, they work as reluctant co-workers, they work as too complicated for simple labels.

They were the messy teen relationship. Jelousy heartbreak and betrayal but loyal caring and so in love.

It wasn't the right time, it was the perfect time, there wasn't enough time, there was just enough, there will always be yesterday, there is a possible tommarow, they are consistent, they are a stop and start. They care for one another even when they don't really want to.

They were toxic but young, growing as people and heroes.

They exist in a way that they orbit the other.

I love a lot of Tim and Stephs other potential (and real) love interests but there is something about the way that they were teens being teens, heroes being heroes but taking on responsibilities and tasks that shouldn't be considered for kids. They grew up too early but never fast enough still immature and young making all the wrong choices. Sure in their beliefs and ways but still meeting enough to fall in love and stay in love even when it hurts.

Both of them have lost the other to death (but not really). Steph's death was faked so she could escape Gotham, but she came back again. Tim's death was faked, so he could be held hostage and he came back again. They have lost the other and yet come back again because even in the face of death and heartache, they can't let go. Only one of those times sid they got a proper goodbye. Both enacted dangerous plans. One went horrible wrong, and one went horribly right. Two sides of a similar coin in that way.

They are two kids who despite being heroes still hang out in a playground, they are two teens who make life changing decisions before they fully know what they even want to do, they are sitting on a couch at the end of the world with old wounds that hurt and ache but still find a way to hold the other.

They have seen the other change in ways that were both good and bad. They have seen the fallout of the other in real time. They are separate with their own growth and maturing but connected in past present and catalyst to change.

You can't discuss Tim as a whole without discussing Steph. You can't discuss Steph as a whole without discussing Tim. They impacted the others life so much that you have to ask, "Who is Stephanie Brown?" "Who is Tim Drake?"
