It might make more sense but it seems like a lot more effort and rather unenjoyable for the crew. They’re meant to be a family who just know each other. When luffy gained a bunch of followers they just took den den numbers and vivre cards and promised to help if called upon.

They’re pirates for fun- if they need to know who gets what treasure they probably just go for dibs. They’re nice enough for that sort of thing to work.

Why would they be having mission briefings? They’re not revolutionaries. They pillage whatever ships they come across and fight whoever they don’t like. If anyone has a grudge on someone they want to fight- that’s that person’s problem, as seems to be the theme in that universe. The only ones who ever make a show of those things tend to be villains or irrelevant side characters who are undermined by the main cast.

I have a feeling that whitebeard would just have an amazing memory for who was where when. They’re all his children who he loves- not too outrageous for it to just be one guy with an amazing memory for where in the world every single member is.

The only things in terms of “paper work” i can see happening are a book some of the chefs keep to check their crew’s likes/ dislikes; medical records for those with conditions that need medication; and inventory for when they go shopping.
