Bella: As a fellow Ravenclaw, she appreciates her love for reading and would love to spend hours talking about books. She thinks Lynn could stand to be a little more out there and not just stay in the background with a book, because even though she spent most of her time like that, she's been so much happier spending time with people. Freddie: Her intelligence is commendable, but she's a little too much of a doormat for his tastes. He can sympathize with her, however, having spent a little less that half of his life without parents, since he doesn't really count his foster parents despite all they've done for him.

Zach: Yet another person he struggles to relate to. She's... okay for him. She's nice, and he doesn't feel defensive around her, which is always a plus. He'd probably try to read a book or two to have something to talk about her with, and he might succeed with those one or two books, but his capacity to remain quiet is very low.

day five: lynn

introducing lynn! there are very few braincells in this group, but she can always be counted on to possess both an academic and a creative one! maybe not a social interaction brain cell though. when lynn was a kid, her parents died in a car crash and she was sent to an orphanage. lynn never really connected with the kids her age, so she retreated into all the books she could find. lynn loves writing and creating new worlds in her head, and that doesn’t change when she makes friends at the boarding school.

Yellow: What’s a common writing tip that you mostly ignore?

I'm very bad at planning. I love to just jump into a story with a vague idea of where I want to take it. Either that, or I just forget to look at the plan I wrote and completely diverge from it

Gold: Do your stories usually contain lessons or morals?

I'm a little ashamed to say, no, they don't. I write to entertain myself and anyone who reads it. I write for escapism and to bring the world trapped in my head to life. There is as much rhyme and reason to my stories as there is to my brain (that is to say, none)

Pink: Which of your characters would become your best friend?

I'd like to say Fera. She's just so sweet, and the emotional support she'd give is great. And her adorable collection of Tiny Things? And the garden? Amazing

Purple: Which of your characters would become your sworn enemy?

I don't think I'd have a sworn enemy (those seem emotionally draining) but I'd probably dislike Freddie the most. He's had a rough past, sure, but being super aloof and disdainful all the time would really get on my nerves (he's fun to write that way though)

Even if I’ve never spoken to them, even if I don’t know them from a hole in the wall, even if they’re on anon, people asking questions about my OCs make my day.

Zach: Before her character arc, he struggles to be nice around her. Her attitude reminds him of every kid that bullied him in elementary school - aloof and hateful. The only redeemable thing about her is her family situation. Since she was raised by her uncle, she doesn't know much better, which gives him a little hope for her future if she spends more time around kinder people. Unfortunately, he probably won't be those people, at least in the beginning; eventually, they might bond, but she has to become a more empathetic person first.

Bella: Like Zach, before her character arc, Dawn is on thin ice with Bella. She'll treat Dawn coolly and won't be outright rude, but it'll take a lot for Dawn to redeem herself. However, her social skills are impressive to Bella, who has to work painfully hard to stay afloat in high school politics. Though in saying that, she's often confused by Dawn's chameleon-esque personality when seeing her interact with different people.

Freddie: Dawn is his favorite person in the entire group. She has good taste, understands that some people are just inferior. However, she is a little cold, and he's intimidated by her age and temperament - he'd like to befriend an ally, but she also has social experience he doesn't. But any fear he has in regards to her comes from a place of respect, which is more than can be said of anyone else of either group.

day seven: dawn

last, but certainly not least, is dawn! although she keeps herself apart from the main group, she is connected to them through nyx, her cousin. dawn is the daughter of aunt jetta, but is closer to her uncle, nero, who treated her as his heir- until nyx showed up. then, dawn felt like an afterthought in her own family, as everyone’s attention seemed focused on nyx. the Institute of Briarwood gives her a chance to prove herself, and she’s determined to take it.
