The Flash Family have lost track of Bart, but not because of any of the usual reasons. They lost him because a group of occultists dropped him in a rift between realities.
They're loathe to do it, but they.
They have to use magic. To summon a...ghost. King. Thing.
It's all very smoke and mirrors and the scientifically minded speedsters are fed up with it even before they've started diving into it.
They've grabbed Zatanna, made a sigil on the ground out of goat blood, and are waiting for her to finish chanting nonsense to summon an interdimensional being that thinks it's a ghost, of all things.
The space above the sigil condenses, both imploding and exploding at the same time. For a brief moment, everyone staring at the anomaly sees what looks like the end of time itself, only to suddenly be looking at the beginning of time, and then.
Void.
A rip in the air, a hole of pure void, floats above them, a shade of black so dark their eyes cannot comprehend what they're looking at.
Then, piece by piece, something unfolds itself from that void.
Pale fingers wrap along the edges of the tear in reality, with too many joints and claws far too sharp, slowly pulling the thing that owns them through.
It has white hair, a body made of space and ice, and a form that their minds can only barely comprehend.
"Who dares to try to summon Pariah Dark?" It demands, a million voices all at once, none of them speaking English but yet able to be understood all the same.
"We do!" Wally shouts, pushing himself forward. "One of our own is trapped in your dimension, an-"
"Wait, wait, hold up. A normal human is in my dimension? Like, from this location?" The sinister being asks, holding up it's hands in a 'slow down' motion.
"Uh, yeah. He's just a kid, and he shouldn't be-"
"Fuck me how long has he been here?!" The eldritch creature shouts, slowly shrinking in size until it's...about as tall as Wally. Also, less eldritchy. Now it just looks like some hero with white hair and green eyes, currently about to pull out his own hair with how hard he's grabbing it.
"Like, a day."
"Shit, be right back, he can't have gone far." The apparently normal-ish looking Pariah Dark says, jumping back into the void.
Wally looks at Zatanna.
Zatanna looks a strange mix of shocked, scared, confused, and slowly morphing into pissed.
Fifteen minutes later, a frazzled looking Pariah Dark reappears, Impulse thrown over his shoulder as he sprints through the portal.
"Close it close it close it!" Pariah shouts, waving a hand at Zatanna, who does it with a snap of her fingers.
"Oh no. Bart, is he-?"
"-Drunk out of his mind? Yeah. Yeah, he found his way into one of the nightclubs. By the way, he's wanted for underage drinking now. Probably shouldn't go back any time soon."

seeing someone comment landfillcore under a holiday decor haul a few years back permanently changed my consumption habits. what an evocative word. I think about her all the time
while im here im going to try and convince you guys to write more "Tim Drake joining the Batfam late" aus because it's underrepresented
like, i love the fics where he joins early. that's cute! but a fic where he joins late for whatever reason??? i eat it up like a cat starved for attention. i want Tim Drake being the "perfect" heir to Drake Industries and being known as the polite, well adjusted young man that everyone knows. and then turn around and find out that Tim has not only been stalking the Bats under their radar since he was, what, 9 years old? but on top of that, he's started solving cases that they can't get to. Tim who stalked so hard he learned where they learned their martial arts and went "backpacking across europe" only to have actually been learning from Shiva. Tim who has become an urban legend to the Batfam because they can't tell if this vigilante exists or not, since they never catch him, they don't have footage on him, etc. Or if they DO know him, they don't even think to put Tim Drake in the suspect pool because Tim Drake whined for an hour when he broke a nail at a charity event once. the kid is smart, sure, but he's not going out at night fighting crime and solving cases that Batman didn't know about yet.
even better if Tim named his vigilante persona an adjacent name to the Robin mantle. him knowing he can't BE Robin (perhaps Jason hadn't died in this au) but he could be a hero that helps them from the shadows
and obviously he makes a mistake of some kind... maybe he saves someone at an event as Tim Drake and Bruce sees how little hesitation he had. or maybe he gets injured and can't get up himself, and that's when a Bat or a Robin or someone finds this vigilante they almost thought was a myth: bloody, broken, and needing help. pick him up and take him home and then there are endless possibilities to what happens next but the ending BETTER be Tim finding his home with his people
Bruce Wayne wakes up in the past, five months after Jason Todd died, and spends most days sat beside the grave because he never found out exactly when Jason had come back and he wanted to be there to save him when he did.
From an outside perspective, everyone is extremely concerned.

Dick Grayson's unmatched success as a child vigilante makes a lot more sense when you remember the Court of Owls was a thing and that Dick was meant to be the next Grey Son.
There is no way that someone at Haly's Circus wasn't there keeping an eye on him while he grew up. A future weapon needs to be trained and monitored after all, and a circus, a place where weird skills are completely normal, is actually a great place to secretly train a child.
You know, just some knife tricks that translated really well into actual fighting. How to get out of restraints and pick locks while under a time limit. Death defying acrobatic stunts that coincidentally do wonders for parkouring. That sort of thing. Nothing that seems out of place for a boy growing up around circus performers to learn, but would literally any where else.
I mean, while I fully believe that most kids would want to kill the man responsible for their parents deaths, Dick was weirdly prepared to go through it. He tracked down Zucco with way more ease than any normal child should have too. He became the first child vigilante, for goodness sake. The first Robin! He only started getting formal training after he basically forced Bruce into it!
Bruce himself has no idea that this kind of competency in a child is unusual, considering he was much too blinded by the similarities between his and Dick's tragic orphanhoods.
Alfred is in a similar boat because he’s desensitized to weird children after he somehow managed to successfully raise Bruce 'The Batman' Wayne, so he doesn't clock the hyper-competency as abnormal either.
By the time the other batkids start popping up (Jason 'The Audacity' Todd, borderline-street rat with no fear) (Tim 'the greatest stalker in Gotham history' Drake, child genius, also bullied his way into becoming Robin) (Barbara 'raised by the only uncorrupt cop in gotham' Gordon) (Stephanie 'daddy issues and spite' Brown) (Duke 'Pretends he's the normal one and people believe him' Thomas) it's too late.
It would also explain how Dick got along so well with Damian out of all of them. Similar childhood with different approaches and all that. On some subconscious level, Dick recognises and resonates with the murderous ten year old assassin with strong familial ties to a secret elite assassin organization.
It isn't until after the whole Court of Owls and Grey Son reveal that suddenly Dick realises a whole lot of things about his childhood that suddenly make a lot more sense.

Concept art of Dan's feral/hardcore transformation.
I have my thoughts and concerns about the series' future (if they decide to move forward with the GN story), I would really love if they still keep Dan's OG form because... well, he's technically possessing a body so he's still there somewhere.
My concept of this is he only goes FULL-HULK-GHOST if the situation demands it but at a cost that he can't retain that form for too long.

someone in the dp community recreated the super rare THE ULTIMATE ENEMY PROMO to give it justice and have it as a HQ poster, because in fact, it is hard to find it on the internet. So I wanted to give it a little twist of my own.
Ghost sign language is a combination of gestures and sending out emotional waves for the recipient to receive. Sadly since Danny fell into this other universe, his english is very different to this universes and his verbal ghost speak is also unknown. Luckily for him the emotional and mental signals from GSL still translates properly.
Never will I stop with the steadfast notion that folks in the DPXDC fandom should interact with at least some form of canon DC media.
There are comics, tv shows, radio dramas both old and new, podcasts, movies, magazines, so much shit that intentionally avoiding the media is simply preventing yourself from spawning new ideas and gaining a new appreciation for a fandom that you’re already in.
The Superman Radio Show has episodes 11 minutes long. A lot of the TV shows don’t have episodes that surpass 30 minutes and most are nearly fully clipped on the official DC YouTube channel. The amount of fan made motion comics is astounding. The amount of fanmade animations is equally as incredible.
