What's so good about the "Stay Broken" scene is that yes it's extremely romantic but it's Pattison at its most toxic and enabling, and it almost *immediately* backfires. Allison is pretty vaguely upset and self-loathing, and Patty comes in with "No you're great you've done nothing wrong keep being you (you're-so-pretty-I-love-you)"
And sure, that helps Allison not spiral in her next argument with Sam but now all of her own shittiness towards Sam has been absolved and redirected to Patty and guess what, Patty doesn't like that! Those broken edges Patty loves so much do indeed cut!
Patty pushes back, completely understandably for her own health, but can you imagine your oldest friend/lover/person you've assigned bearer of a "better" past self calls you broken, then your new best friend tells you they love you anyways and *then* a week later goes (paraphrased, and certainly interpreted as such by Allison) "Fuck you, you're broken. I don't want to ever speak to you again."
Jesus.

it's so close to being a humanizing moment but besides also admitting to cop crimes, she leverages her knowledge of Allison's affair with Sam to try and get Patty to distance herself from Allison.
That double punch of Tammy straight up telling Allison she doesn't like her and their bonding trip meant nothing, and then Allison finding out that Tammy *used* the thing Allison thought they were bonding about to try to control Patty.
Sort of like Allison and Patty's fight at the end of season 1, except Allison actually feels guilty and can self-reflect, if poorly.

This subplot is so funny with the knowledge that Patty spent a year in highschool being manipulated into giving another girl rides.

the lost girls of worcester is so good; spheeris1 is a master of Less is More. Some epic fics I'll just be baffled that the writer has *that* many words in their head they are able to put onto a page, with spheeris I'm amazed at how much characterization and emotion they can put in a thousand-word chapter
Their Cruel Summer fic was also great, and there's a treasure trove if I ever decided to subject myself to Killing Eve.
And, though I need to actually watch all of it, respect to anyone who has Utena fic in their arsenal. Kcfh just has that Magical Girl vibe.
Still always so wild to check on if there’s any new .hack//SIGN discourse and get old forum posts from 2005 being like “What was up with Tsukasa and Subaru?” and there’s a small set of people going “If we break it down scientifically we can conclude they were probably gay” and then another set of people going “I think it would be reading into it too much to definitively say they were gay” and like-

My phone just randomly did a pop-up notification for a "new chapter" email from 2021 of a dead longfic I adore and I literally have tears in my eyes and am shaking with rage from the extreme emotional whiplash this betrayal of technology has inflicted upon me
