This dragon tail has a pattern of gold scales branching off the spine, to match the circuitry patterns the commissioner’s character has.

Green and yellow anodized aluminum scales, linked together with stainless steel rings. It measures in at 33 inches long and 3 pounds 6 ounces.

This Was A First Attempt At Making A Cuff Bracelet Wallet. An Idea That A Friend Had Suggested Back When

This was a first attempt at making a cuff bracelet wallet. An idea that a friend had suggested back when needing a little pocket to store cash and ID while going to a club was a problem that one could have.

I had fun with the pattern on the front side, though it turned out looking more like a sofa than I’d expected. The next iteration will probably be rainbow stripes or a paw print or something like that.

The basic premise turned out pretty reasonably, and this let me figure out some edits I’d need to make for the next version. (Like, one big pocket with one opening is not the best, I need to have it open on both sides, and maybe break it up into smaller pocket slots. And preferably use a thinner leather on the interior. And make it significantly looser, IDs don’t bend very well.) (Also, turns out white thread darkens when you repeatedly pull it through laser-cut stitching holes.)

I’d made this figuring I’d keep it for myself, but it turned out I got the sizing about a half inch too small, so it’s too tight for me to wear comfortably. So if anyone’s got a wrist size 6.5″ or smaller, feel free to make me an offer for this. I suspect I’ll need to make it rather wider to actually fit an ID without bending it too badly, so might not fulfill its intended utility, but it’s still a cool cuff bracelet.

2 layers of 4 oz vegetable-tanned leather, cut with a laser cutter, dyed and stitched by hand, with mink oil to soften it up, and finished with an acrylic-based clear coat. Snaps are nickel-plated brass.

Bronze Scale Mail Bracelets. The Thick One Is Fresh And Shiny, And Just Shipped Out. The Thinner One

Bronze scale mail bracelets. The thick one is fresh and shiny, and just shipped out. The thinner one I made for the last convention I was selling at, and it's starting to show some oxidation. I think bronze is fun largely because of how it patinas over time.

Gonna re-work the etsy listings for these bracelets to make the options more clear. Here’s the revised one for bronze, next I’ll do steel.

This Aquatic Dragons Streamlined Profile Helps It Cut Through The Waters Smoothly, And Its Shimmery Blue

This aquatic dragon’s streamlined profile helps it cut through the waters smoothly, and its shimmery blue coloration lets it blend in and evade detection as it stalks its prey.

The mask is made of relatively thick 6 oz vegetable-tanned leather. That thickness is a bit much for a lot of the more delicate stuff I do, but it gave this a really nice solidity and heft.

The eye pieces are an iridescent acrylic plastic that reflects greens and yellows depending on angle, and is rose-tinted when looking through it.

I'm feeling really happy with the riveted style I've been working out with these masks. It still always makes me think of like metal panels assembled into a submarine, or something like that. Always gives a bit of a steampunk slant to the aesthetic.

As for overall concept/form/vibe, I feel like I’m doing a good job of hitting my target of the uncanny valley between fursuits and pup hoods. Which means I’m never really sure if there are enough people who want this sort of thing for it to be viable. But I like them, and I think it’s good to push a greater variety of ideas out into the world.

Previously seen here, and assembly photos here.

And it’s up for sale on my Etsy shop!

Here’s a codpiece that someone ordered, in the natural un-dyed color of the leather. Though the oil I rub into it to make the straps supple darkens it noticeably, so I gave the codpiece some oil as well to bring it closer to that color.

This style of codpiece is available on my Etsy shop here.

Jackal mask from convention season. It’s been a favorite design for quite a while, usually in black. I’ve been rather liking it in brown recently though.
