WIP Wednesday

Hope everyone is having a good week. Mine has been very busy, and I've been sick but I think I'm finally on the mend. The room isn't spinning anymore and for that I am grateful.

Not a lot of writing with all this brain fog, but some. Some. Here's another excerpt from Someone Wicked.

My hair nearly touches my shoulders when it’s wet.  There’s just the hint of a wave, drops of water beading at the tips and dripping onto my bare shoulders.  I watch them in the reflection, feel them cooling on my skin, goosebumps down my arms, my legs, and my stomach.  

Sometimes I look at myself and it doesn’t seem real.  Like I’m looking at a pencil drawing, a gross approximation of Basilton Pitch. 

But there’s a bruise on my left shoulder that aches when I touch it.  That feels very, scarily real.

when the foxes go on their yearly skiing trip, kevin gets out of the car and completely eats shit, like he slips on the ice and completely wipes out, and all of the foxes start laughing but then nicky laughs so hard he slips too, and then falls down into aaron, whose hands flail and drag down andrew and neil with him, and matt who dives to save neil but who ends up kicking dan and dan who falls and pulls down allison who shrieks and grabs renee until they’re all on the icy parking lot laughing as a family and even andrew, who has a small, tiny smile tucked in towards neil, and they know that they’re safe and that they’re happy and alive and that a few years ago at this very place, they wouldn’t have been able to say any of that at all
