Headcanon Dump - Mortimer Von Koopa Junior (Morton)
Headcanon Dump - Mortimer Von Koopa Junior (Morton)
age: 16
MBTI: ISFJ-A
birthday: December 9th
alignment: Lawful Good
he actually shares his birthday with his dad, that's why he's Morton Jr. (their parents aren't exactly known for giving serious names, just slapping the name of whoever famous' birthday matches..except for Larry)
despite being the second youngest, he's the biggest Koopaling clan member.
after the incident that made him and Roy get adopted by Bowser, he had suffered brain damage, which manifests as Broca's aphasia.
Because of his speech disorder, he's often incorrectly labeled as aggressive and stupid
meanwhile in his childhood he was actually one of the "smarter" Koopalings, as Big Mouth. Tragically he's not as listened to nearly as Iggy or Ludwig due to his struggles with expression after developing aphasia.
Even back then he wasn't book smart - he's way more street smart, filling the informal and social knowledge Iggy/Ludwig desperately need
He often blindly mirrors his big brother Roy - not helping his "brute" reputation. Half of the times he doesn't mean to be so rude, he's just doing it because Roy's doing it
By all means, Morton is a gym bro - not to intimidate others however, he just wants to get stronger to protect his family
this also extends to his cooking - which often goes unappreciated because Bowser Junior hates healthy food
His sense of fashion reflects his personality - sporty, simple, comfortable, and a little bit intimidating
The star on his face is actually painted on, similar to Wendy's constantly changing mole. He just thinks it looks cool (and it is cool)
to add on to it, his favorite genre of music is rock/metal, he often times his slamming to the beat.
Out of his siblings, his ride or die is Roy. he's the first who fully accepted his speech disorder (he didn't even knew Morton was disabled at first - he just thought Morton was intentionally speaking like a caveman and treated it as something badass). It's a similar thing that is going on between Larry and Ludwig - Morton looks up to the older and cooler brother, parroting him, Roy is protective and eager to teach him, and also a little pissed at the parroting.
You should never pair these two together without anyone else watching, though. When together they're losing all their brain cells for the funny. You know it's bad when the fun guy Lemmy is correcting them.
Morton also gets along with people who don't dismiss him as stupid - he's not that argumentative inside, he's just copying Roy to look scarier
examples that he's actually nice include but are not limited to: watching whatever Wendy/Iggy want, learning chess to play with Ludwig (it was fun until Morton actually got better than him, Ludwig is a sore loser), being the group's chair and lifting up smaller koopalings to see better (which pretty much means everyone), playing sports with Larry, cooking for the group (excluding Wendy they'd all live off instant ramen)
His role as the clan member is being THE tank, as the strongest physically Koopaling. He needs a solid reason to start throwing punches, but when he's given a proper reason, oo, you're done.
weapon of choice? he'd answer you that it's his fists. But he likes using anything heavy to better control his movement, like hammers and axes.
His weakness is his lack of magic. It does exist technically, but think about it. It requires good memory to cast proper sigils, and it requires speech to incantate spells, neither of which Morton has.
He's very protective of his siblings (including Bowser Junior), he often covers Larry's ears when he hears something inappropriate, or yells at Ludwig to take a break. A mom friend if you will, which is quite funny for the second youngest (third youngest with Junior).
He is a very sweet person underneath his "evil tank" persona. He always ensures everyone is included and has fun, he's not even that mad when Junior ruins his gaming streaks by playing on his account.
Somehow he's the one Bowser Junior tolerates the most, despite numerous complaining to stop acting like his mom, Junior appreciates the stability Morton brings.
As simple as it is, Morton cares about food a lot. Cooking helped him immensely in his recovery, with straightforward instructions and a clear answer when something went right, or wrong. Usually it's Larry who's giving the feedback so the answer is very straightforward.
Which proves my point that Morton isn't stupid (without Roy). He knows a lot about exercise, nutrition, recipes, even with his memory problems. It shows just how much he cares about health, that even his limitations can't stop him
Because of this, his love language are acts of service. "you eat today?" "Morton help" the second he spots something is off he won't go away until he feels you're okay again.
His biggest flaw is actually being docile, in an ironic way. He's well aware of the sheer power he has, and he's hesitant to use it, scared of being labeled as (more) aggressive.
Roy may be seen as pushing Morton around, but he's actually helping him set boundaries. It's better to have a safe person teach him what is or isn't okay, than get manipulated by somebody else.

Headcanon dump - Mario Mario and Luigi Mario
birthday: 11th October, shared (Mario is the older twin)
species: human (duh)
MBTI: ESFP-A for Mario, ISFJ-T for Luigi
Humans aren't a native species to the Mushroom World. If human logic applies to the Mushroom World, Mario and Luigi and any other humans could be considered aliens (Super Mario Bros SCP AU?/j)
99.99 percent of first generation humans come from the comically complex pipe system in this universe
Naturally, both Mario and Luigi ended up discovering such pipes, because they're working as plumbers
Most humans have a complex relationship with the Earth and the Mushroom World, which extends to both of the brothers alike. They love their family back in Brooklyn dearly, and often visit them. However due to the financial stability and much better conditions of the Mushroom World, the duo have decided to reside primarily close to the Mushroom Kingdom, in a small home set up by Princess Peach.
Their home has a giant pipe on the roof, but not just for aesthetic reasons. This pipe is actually capable of sending any of the brothers back into the Earth whenever they please.
Mario's relationship with the Princess Peach is actually more complex than in canon. He's actually in a happy relationship with Pauline, a fellow human who also ended up in the Mushroom World, and was the person he was initially saving. However, being impulsive heroic and hearing about a poor Princess who needs rescuing, he jumped right in for help. Without any considerations who's the real good/bad side, without thinking how an alien intrusion could potentially wreck politics the way it got wrecked in my AU, he's just eager to help, albeit a little blindly
yes, I am implying that Princess Peach is a hypocrite pushing down a relationship onto Mario in a similar fashion to Bowser pushing Peach. Luckily for her, Mario remains oblivious, misinterpreting her intentions as friendly. She wouldn't get interested in a human plumber, let alone a taken man, right?
Luigi's rescuing comes more thoughtfully, and in a more reasonable approach. He discovered the pipes leading to the Mushroom World later, following Mario in secret. He intentionally kept Luigi from discovering the Mushroom World, wanting to ensure this new dimension would be safe for his baby brother before properly introducing him to it. It backfired however, getting Luigi only more insistent, ironically to protect Mario too
Because Luigi treats his missions more seriously, he is generally respected by different kingdoms, despite being an alien whose older twin's first instinct is to throw hands. To me, the fact people don't remember Luigi's name is a good thing, he's so respectful there aren't no incidents with him present for strangers to remember his name.
Because of his respect and nuance, Luigi and Bowser are friends, keeping their eyes out for Mario's shenanigans. Who knows, maybe Bowser someday will mature out of gluing up to his ex and pursue someone who actually likes him? (yes I'm a bowuigi shipper)
But what about Prince Peasley? Simple, he's out of the comfortable age range, around Ludwig's. If Bowser could comfortably have someone of Peasley's age as his child, Luigi is definitely too old for them. They're still close friends, but if there's something it's one sided, and Luigi makes sure to set boundaries if he ever gets too close, like a responsible adult.
Mario and Luigi are mutually overprotective. Mario assumes the worst and immediately wants to jump into the action, Luigi is making sure that everything is okay calmly.
both of them love cooking, especially from their home recipes smuggled all the way from Brooklyn. Whenever they come back from Earth, their backpacks are filled to the brim with Earth food and Earth spices
despite having countless job options (they even could open a restaurant, Toadstools are suckers for Earth food), Mario and Luigi work as plumbers in the castle, and REFUSE to be anything more, anything less. They don't like flashy titles, and exploiting their alien advantages, their occupation at home was being a plumber, and they feel their best working as plumbers. All their rescuing is volunteering without pay, which often perplexes Bowser
Mario, despite being very erratic at times, somehow befriended Yoshi's, a solitary species living in a seperate island who refuse to speak common. The real reason is that he actually had visited the dimension pipes before as a baby, and got taken care of by a Yoshi tribe (the whole Yoshi's island series). He's essentially treated like a part of the tribe, even if he doesn't have any memories of it.
Luigi is acting often like a babysitter either for Bowser Jr. or the Koopaling Clan. He gets countless questions about humans, and even started Ludwig's pianist career on accident by introducing him to human pianists. He's eager to teach them and Bowser though, and incorporate human traditions in his babysitting (ex. Christmas), happy that his human status is being appreciated in the Dark Land.
Mario is often hesitant to talk to Toadstools. They smell like mushrooms and he hates these (newest mario movie reference). He's growing more tolerant to them, though, exposure therapy/lh
Daisy, another princess Mario decided to rescue without thinking, became their close friend. She's living quite far away though in Sarasaland, so it's not super close, but her approach is definitely healthier and more unconditional unlike Peach.
Wario and Waluigi are another pair of human brothers residing in the Mushroom World. However unlike Mario and Luigi, they're much more exploitative and detached, living as two bounty hunters with Wario having his whole company (Warioware). They're not too friendly, though Mario and Luigi have tried to befriend these humans in a similar position.
Mario is highly competitive, but not antagonistic. This often gets interpreted wrong, but just because he's energetic doesn't mean that he's holding grudges, and just because he's friendly doesn't mean he's meek.
in a similar fashion, Luigi is cowardly, but not a pushover. He may be scared, but he will rescue you. And just because he's heroic, it doesn't mean that he's suddenly confident. He's a person who wants to do good, pushing through even with his anxiety.
Luigi and Dr. E.Gadd are friends. Though he gets all embarrassed and timid whenever this famous scientist still recognizes him and goes for a hug. He doesn't see himself as a hero, so it's really awkward for him when he's recognized as one
Humans don't hold in magic permanently, forcing the duo to rely on power-ups, aka magic inducing herbs. However, after learning fire casting and thunder casting respectively (Superstar Saga), Mario and Luigi have a slight bit of magic that have stayed. The longer they reside in the Mushroom World, the more their human limits can be crossed and the stronger they can get, using more and more complex power ups. Though, the duo is happy with just having a free lighter on their hands to set off the stove/lh
They're capable of speaking common, but in heightened emotions they default to italian, their native language. And then of course Junior picks up on italian slurs and parrots them back at Bowser
