my ace/lesbian friend went to a pride festival today!!! im super happy for her!!!

the shitty part is that she left an hour in because she was scared of getting punched. for carrying an ace flag. at pride.

someone threatened her. at pride. because she was ace.

i dont wanna dabble in ~discourse~ but hey!!! maybe don’t make people scared of the community that should make them feel safe!!!! thats my hot take!!!!

There are lots of ways to help in political crises. Protesting, voting, joining unions, calling your asshole representatives so they know their days in office are numbered, making sure people know their rights, protecting immigrants and minorities-in-general who live in your neighborhood, etc. are all good,

but in terms of the human rights violations happening in America right now, here’s something more immediate you can do.

Half of being trans is being hypervigilant against transphobes. Like, I spent 15 minutes scrolling down on a blog that I would be super interested in just to make sure that it wasn’t going to start reblogging stuff from my favorite transmisogynists. Turns out that my hypervigilance was right again.
