Facts about Mohammed Avdol that are often forgotten

Avdol’s bio says that he’s very confident, is good as persuading, attracting, and leading people, and has very quick thinking skills which teams up well with Joseph.

His favorite movie is Midnight Run, a buddy comedy about a bounty hunter and his mark travelling cross country and becoming friends while being chased by the FBI, other bounty hunters, etc.

The Jojonium interview says he’s the navigator and has a very strong sense of duty, loyalty, and justice. It also mentions that Avdol’s backstory would be “a mature story that wouldn’t fit Shonen Jump.” Araki compared Avdol to a solider with a lot of experience.

Gets more visibly distraught than the other Crusaders when innocent civilians are attacked.

He knew Joseph for three years before the start of the anime, making it 1984. During this point, Joseph’s seen Avdol use Crossfire Hurricane and knows that when Avdol uses it, things get ugly. In the manga Joseph mentions that any Stand hit with Crossfire dead on literally melts.

Avdol and Joseph both knew exactly how the flesh buds worked, which suggests that they’ve had someone attempt to remove the bud, as well as probably conducted an autospy.

He’s seen “countless” people killed by their own Stands when they couldn’t control them.

Avdol was told of Grey Fly’s Stand, what he knew was the Tower of Grey was “a buglike Stand who likes to rip out the tongue and eat it.” He knows Tower of Grey commits mass murders and makes them look like accidents, commonly for pay, and has suspicions over which incidents were caused by it. Vocally wonders in the manga if Dio ordered one of the mass murders in a year past. 

Has seen Devo in person once before, knows who he’s hired by, and knows that everyone who has ever seen Devo’s Stand is dead. Also knows that Devo’s stand functions through holding a hateful grudge and provoking the enemy to attack, but doesn’t know what that Stand looks like. Ergo, it can be extrapolated that when Avdol did meet/see Devo, for whatever reason, they weren’t attacking each other.

Knows how Midler’s Stand works, recognizes it by ability, and knows that it’s a long distance Stand. However, he states that he’s only heard of it; worth noting that Devo mentions that no Stand using assassin will willingly reveal how their Stand works. Probably had an informant or outright searched for imformation about High Priestess.

Recognizes Judgement on sight, knows Cameo’s name.

Has resources dedicated to tracking people and places, if the beggar and the fact that he was helping Joseph track DIO is any indication.

Can pilot a fuckoff massive submarine. (I would not be surprised if he and Joseph have gone down to investigate the wreckage of the ship Jonathan died on)

There were stands introduced before that were bad for their users in some circumstances (like Super Fly) but I don’t think there’s any other stand that

1. Terrifies its user and is therefore only brought out in life or death

2. Can actually kill its user with its main power

3. Actively acts against the users wishes (Abba said fugo would never let PH act the way he was, and fugo has very limited control)

By default the stands were introduced to help their users one way or another and are usually heavily based on user personality type; ofc PH toxin can be seen as a panic defense mechanism but then WHY the hell would it be fatal to fugo if it originated from fight or flight response???

Moreover the functionality of fugo in the gang is very confusing considering Polpo, and by extension Bruno’s team, functions primarily through stand users- if Polpos opinion on Giorno (hell either die or become strong either way is fine) was the same for fugo, why did he allow Fugo to be Bruno’s #2 if he can’t use his stand? Doesn’t that make him a liability for interrogation and data leak? OR did Bruno never tell Polpo the details of PH??? (If that’s mentioned in PHF I must’ve forgotten)

thinking about how this is the scene after fugo is abducted by soft machine and how 1. soft machine doesnt do much damage so it couldnt have caused this 2. purple haze couldnt have caused this or there would be smoke, therefore the implication is that fugo did this with his bare hands
