Me: Let's Work On Some Figure Drawing!

Me: let's work on some figure drawing!
Also me: *first one is two women holding hands* Let's make some Ikora x Chalco fan art!
Okay, so Bungie doesn't give us enough lore about these two, so I have some head cannons about them. Honestly still don't really know how these two meet, but they've worked together a lot in both Crucible and actual missions. Chalco is a fierce arcstrider and was taught a lot by Tallulah Fairwind (the first hunter vanguard) and often learned a lot about being an academic from Osiris. Spending a lot of time with warlocks/academics led Chalco to be one herself. Chalco always had feelings for Ikora but Ikora didn't realize it (I imagine Ikora dated Eris at one point). Eventually Chalco and Ikora do end up together.
Things were going great, but they had a bit of a rough patch when Osiris was exiled because the Speaker acted as though it was a unanimous vote to exile Osiris but both Andal and Ikora voted against this. Chalco by that point really liked Osiris and even tho she saw he wasn't the best commander/warlock vanguard, still believed he was an important academic to the city. Chalco later finds this out from Andal how the vote actually went. Chalco makes up with Ikora, but since Ikora is the vanguard now and Chalco is one of her most important Hidden in the field, they spend a lot of time apart.
I often wish we got more lore about Ikora's past beyond her Crucible days and she being Osiris' student, kinda like how they humanized Zavala with the whole Safiyah/Hakim story. And I just want more Chalco lore. I get excited to read it whenever it's given. I know we'll never see her in game, but I thought the same about Eido, and I was super thrilled when they actually put her in game. So I can hope maybe the same will happen for Chalco.

What’s your motivation to Draw like what keeps you active to keep going and gettin done?
I’m just looking for Advice because I’m struggling with getting one piece done
If you don’t mind
Hmmm- well for me 3 things. One- seeing other people’s artwork and listening/ watching YouTube videos about art. From tutorials, to historical videos, and “my life as a so-and-so artist”. Seeing another’s person’s art helps me feel creative. Even old paintings inspire me.
Second- the learning process. I enjoy learning new skills, and with art you’re constantly learning new things. How a certain lighting interacts with different colors, how this composition works, or by doing “this and this” it makes “this”.
One thing I found encouraging was how many really professional artists, to this day, have their own personal sketch books with scribbles and nonsense in them. Ones that they’re too embarrassed to show others cuz “oh I drew this wrong” or it’s them experimenting with different styles. Even if they’re considered “masters”.
The third is storytelling. I love stories and I enjoy creating stories even if just little short scenes with my drawings. I’m still learning and experimenting but I love it.
If you’re stuck on an art piece I do recommend taking a break and setting it aside. Take the time to engage with something you really enjoy, or inspires you. Yeah yeah I know- everyone says this but it’s true!
Now we can switch Savvy with our hive war mommy to make it accurate for Season of the Deep too

really impressed by the character interactions this season (this was made during Season of the Lost)
I didn't realize I needed to see crow fishing with the YW! Where is Crow this season? He needs to be here just fun!
Orli and Crow fishing

Crow is obviously struggling with his grief but it’s sort of messed up, given everything he knows, to turn to YW and invite them on a vengeance crusade. Through Uldren he has first hand knowledge of just how far off the deep end they’re capable of going. How far does he want them to go? How much pain does he want them to cause? If he asks for scorched earth he’d probably get it. Given Amanda’s death happened during a mission they were involved in it’s likely another loss they feel somewhat personally responsible for.
I know there’s a lot of times different characters ask for YW to basically unleash rage upon their enemies but personally to me (just my headcanon basically) I always felt that, post Forsaken, it was meeting Crow and hearing about what he’d been through since he’d risen that started to wake YW up. And with his perspectives on our conflicts and enemies in the following seasons he reminded YW of the type of Guardian they could be. The type of Guardian they were when they showed Misraaks mercy all those years ago on Titan.
So it being him who is asking this of them just left me feeling hollow.
This week's drifter and Eris lore
So for those of you who might not have read this week's new lore entry, here it is. It's the fourth entry in the "Purpose" lore book, this chapter called "Tether." The tldr is Drifter wants Eris to talk to Sloane because Eris is really good at talking people through their emotions. Eris feels like this is out of the blue, and tells Drifter that he should do it instead.
Since Drifter and Eris' relationship started to be something more than friends, I've always felt that Eris is probably bi or pansexual. I think she is definitely into Drifter now and she at least had a crush on Ikora (though it's fun to imagine Ikora and Eris dated a bit long ago).
Anyway, this lore entry definitely drops a lot of hints that these two are going to end up in a relationship. The first two lines are: "Eris let her eyes wander over the interior of the Derelict, wondering if Drifter had hastily tidied it before her arrival. Unprecedented, but he could still surprise her." They've had a few of these conversions on Drifters ship in lore and this is definitely the first he's tried to organize the hot mess that is his ship.
At one point, Drifter doesn't feel like he can help Sloane and becomes silent. "Eris reached out and placed a hand on his arm. He was tensed to trembling, but her touch was light. Quiet. Comforting." And you know what Drifter does? He puts his hand over Eris' hand.
Already these two things are telling about their relationship right now and where it is headed. But we get a bit more. Drifter asks Eris, "Hey, you find that joy yet?" Referring to how Eris during Witch Queen believes she can find joy again in her life after so long of dealing with anguish after losing her ghost/everything that happened in the Hell Mouth. Eris answers with "Soon. Joy is built...but I have taken the first step." This could easily be related to their relationship. They haven't gone anywhere with it but they are taking slow steps to make it something more than friendship.
Then Eris gets ready to leave and she says, "Consider my counsel, Germaine." Drifter does put up a bit of a fight that that isn't his name anymore, but he eventually allows Eris to call him that. Gone are the days of calling him Rat (though I suppose if he's an idiot, he might still get called that from time to time).
Anyway, yeah, it looks more and more like Eris and Drifter are gonna end up in a relationship. Idk how it'll go for them. Heck, even if they end up a thing, idk how official they'd make it. So we'll see. But it's really cute seeing Eris be this open to someone.
