I like this post.

Louie has such great characterization in his recipe entries, it is actually awesome. Going through and processing them all for the food series is a delight. He daydreams about cooking for others and having them wowed by the presentation (and on the opposite end--going so far as to serve food HE deems as nasty to people he daydreams about hating, like future in-laws). And not only does this little fella eat some reprehensible things, he KNOWS that what he is doing is awful and would upset his 'guests' if they knew (i.e. sneaking the phosbats in the hot pot broth without anyone else seeing and acknowledging that the legs on the mitites are unappealing to normal people). The self restraint in not eating the Pikmin. The dogs are sweet rides. This isn't even getting into the treasure entries which very explicitly state that Louie hates being told what to do by anyone in authority.

All of this of course points towards my working theory that Louie always wanted to be a professional chef of some celebrity (see: the Insect Gourmet entry) but couldn't 'handle the heat' in the kitchen as it were of being ordered around in the culinary world by superiors before working his way to the top. So he took the job at Hocotate Freight since they apparently hire anyone with a pulse and give their employees access to expensive cargo to boot. Surely, they won't miss just a few carrots...

God wouldn’t it be nice if the Pikmin and the creatures got along FOR ONCE.

my dream chulip graphic novel adaptation where love interest goes with you to at least two of the places outside of llt instead of just staying there the whole time(she expresses interest in going on the tour if you show her the manager pass AND she’s the one who shows you the ufo through her telescope ! i’m not positive abt her going to wdt though) they are actively bonding ok
