Im A Gner // Somebody Catch My Breath

I’m a gøner // Somebody catch my breath

Huge congrats to these guys on their Grammy nominations! If a had to choose a favorite on Blurryface, this would be it. Beautifully haunting lyrics, though they may be simple, with such an explosive and emotional ending. This song really ends the album perfectly.

Let me be your mirror // Help you see a little bit clearer // The light that shines within

Artists, songs and videos like this one are so important.  This song has such a powerful message, and this video captures it perfectly.  Though it uses the example of an insecure girl, its message is directed towards all genders in her effort to help people see their beauty and see that they are perfect as is. Congrats on the Rule Breaker Women in Music Award. Super well deserved.

Had to lose my way // To know which road to take

This song has such a cool and different vibe. The cover art for this song (shown in the video) is perfect as well, because every time I listen to this song it brings me to a place like that.  Love this song from Imagine Dragons and hope they do more like this in the future.

I should cry wolf. I should run // We both know that this ain’t love but I don’t mind

Such a cool song.  He has an older quality to his music that’s really cool and unique. Love the grooviness (if that’s a word lol) of this song and the smooth vocals. Also I love supporting young great independent acts like him.

Art is not what I create // What I create is chaos

Super happy for this girl getting a Women in Music Rising Star Award! Super deserved. I love the original song but this version has such a different vibe that almost gives the song new meaning. This version is almost sadder, like if she’s longing for what could’ve been as opposed to an admittance of their relationship going downhill. The difference in spoken lyrics is also interesting, and it makes her sound like she’s realizing that she’s also partially at fault. I do love the original spoken part though and wish it was also in this version.
