Author's note: Iâm so excited for this series and I hope you all like it.
Notice/warnings: hunted, experimented, extinct, hiding

Once, long ago, there were sundrop snakes.Â
They would look like normal yellow snakes, but if you looked at their teeth, you would see that theyâre gold instead of white.Â
A lot of people, human and animal, would go to them if theyâre ill or hurt badly.
The sundrop snakes would bite the person, but it wouldnât hurt them. Instead, it would heal them, like they were never ill or hurt.
Some were grateful for them, for their help and gifts.Â
Some aren't grateful for them, they were still monsters.
That didnât bother the sundrop snakes.Â
But what did bother the sundrop snakes were those who were curious and greedy.Â
The reason that the ones that got curious and greedy is because the venom is so strong that it can not only heal the sick and injured but can reverse aging temporarily.
Some were so curious and greedy that the sundrop snakes went extinct.Â
All except for one.
A sundrop snake hatchling.
The sundrop hatchling was found by six that were part of the curious and greedy for power but they were careful.Â
One of the six is a professor and the caretaker of the sundrop, making sure that they donât lose their chance of eternal youth, careful experiments, and keeping the sundrop snake hidden.
The sundrop snake has been hidden in the deep part of the woods for 21 years, until now.

I find it interesting and clever how you used both the "Bucharest Bandits" and "Lucky Jim", who are both only mentioned as part of a gag and utilized them as actual characters.
Just like in canon, the Golden Dolphin breaks every criminal who tries to steal it.

It was early in the morning when Snake was playing hide and seek with Webs, his friend, before he did his chores.
âWhere did you go?â Snake called out.Â
Webs was out on the balcony, looking for a hiding spot. She spotted one of the outside medium size potted plants. She quickly went to it and got under the leaves of the plant as she got her hood up.
Then Snake looked out the balcony, looking for her. He smirked as he flickered his tongue at the potted plants and started to slither off inside, saying, âWell, Webs isnât around hereâŠâ
Webs chuckled softly when she thought that Snake had slithered off, thinking that sheâs a great hider. But then her victory was interrupted by tail grabbing her, pulling her out of her hiding spot and into the tower.Â
âGot ya!â Snake exclaimed, smiling big that his teeth showed as he looked at Webs, his golden tooth shined.Â
âOh come on!â Webs yelled, pulling her hood down as Snake put her down on the floor. âThat was a good hiding spot! Did you cheat by tasting air?â
Snake looked down at her as he adjusted his dark blue robe over his light blue nightgown. Then he tilts his head to the side to think if he did or didnât.
Webs could just look at him, waiting for an answer.Â
âI donât know.â Snake said calmly after a moment, picking up a watering can. âIâm going to check and water the plants. Then Iâm going to do the rest of my chores.â
Webs sighed in annoyance as Snake slithered away to get water in the watering can to water plants, knowing that he did cheat. But she couldnât help but smile at him instead of staying mad at him. âYou know, I like you when youâre not playing the good boy part, Mr. Grumpy Pants.â she said, following him. âItâs nice to see you not being forced to be good.â
Snake looks at Webs as he gets water into the watering can. âWell, itâs good to be loose for a bit. Not following some rules.â he said, turning the water off when the watering can was full. He looked at the plants.
There were so many different plants and so green that it would look like a part of the garden of eden.
âAnd yet you still donât go outside.â Webs said, her arms crossed.Â
Snake was quiet for a moment. âYou know that I canât leave the tower, WebsâŠâ Snake said finally as he went to the plants and started to give them water.Â
Webs nodded, a frown on her face. âI know⊠but I know how much the floating lights mean to you.â she said, walking over to Snake and putting a small hand on his tail. âAnd since your birthday is tomorrow, even though I know that you donât like birthdays, I thought that you should see them in person. Since you havenât seen them in person or anything else besides the things in the tower.â
Snake looks down at Webs again as he sets the watering can down. âThat would be a nice gift, Webs, but there's a problem. My caretakers, Professor Marmalade and his friends. They always said no when I asked to go outside.â
Webs nodded and started to climb up the watering can to be about eye level. âLook⊠I know itâs not easy, but I know that you can do this.â
Snake looked at Webs, smiled softly at her and said, âOk, Iâll ask him when he gets home. Now, letâs finish up watering the plants and get some chores done.â
Webs nodded and helped with what she could do.
â
In a kingdom near the woods, the people were getting ready for the Lanterns Festival, which is tomorrow.Â
Everyone was so busy and so focused on getting ready that they didnât see the seven thieves going to the rooftop of the castle. They were sneaky and quick to not be caught by the guards as they got to the roof.
Mister Wolff, one of the thieves, looked out at the kingdom from the roof and was in awe at the sight while the Bucharest Bandits Brothers and Lucky Jim got the hatch off of the roof.Â
âWow.â he breathed, taking in the beautiful sight. âI could get used to a view like this.â
âWolff!â the five Bucharest Bandits hissed whispered together. âCome on!â
Mister Wolff held up his pointer finger to say âin a minuteâ. âGuys, I want my own castle.â Mister Wolff announced, still looking at the view.
âOh, youâll get your castle, alright. After we finish this job.â Lucky Jim chuckled low. Then Mister Wolff was grabbed by the back of the neck of his vest and pulled back to the group by Lucky Jim. One of the Bucharest Bandits tied one end of a long rope around Mister Wolffâs waist and checked to see if it was tight enough before sending the wolf down into the treasure room.Â
Mister Wolff was sent down carefully into the treasure room when ready and with his satchel in hand. Lucky Jim and all of the Bucharest Bandits held the rope as they sent him down.
Mister Wolff looked at all of the treasure as he was being sent down to grab one of the treasures. He wished that they could take all of the treasure but they were told to take one thing.
A golden dolphin trophy.
He smiled when he saw the trophy. Mr. Wolf grabbed it and put it in his satchel as a guard walked in.Â
Mister Wolff and the guard looked at each other for a moment.Â
âBye.â Mister Wolff said, smiling a sly smile at the guard as he was raised back up.Â
âWait! No, hey! Wait!â the guard exclaimed before running out of the room to sound the alarm.Â
Lucky Jim, the Bucharest Bandits and Mister Wolff, who was putting the rope in his satchel, were running fast out of the kingdom and into the woods.
âDo you guys see me in a castle? Because I can!â Mister Wolff exclaimed happily as the seven of them ran on the bridge. âOh all of the things that we've seen and itâs only eight in the morning. Oh, this is a great day!â

The case of shipping in the Kid Icarus community is honestly quite a strange one.
I know itâs got a lot of popular ships like Pit/Dark Pit, Pit/Palutena, etc. But the ships themselves and the context between them are⊠peculiarly complex to say the least? If you really think hard about it, barely any ship between the characters is romantically compatible.
Like, for one, Pit/Dark Pit. Or as others like to call it, âPitcest.â
I personally, am not a fan of Pitcest. Not because I donât like the âcute and quirky boy dates edgy boyâ dynamic, but literally any ship with âcestâ in the name is just a turnoff for me. Plain and simple.
That being said, Iâm not the biggest fan of Pit/Palutena either, for obvious reasons. That being Pit is portrayed as an adolescent (Sakurai even states heâs canonically 13 in human years) and sheâs portrayed as a fully matured woman. Even if ages werenât a problem, thereâs still the unbalanced power dynamic these two have with each other.
Yes, I know itâs heavily implied in the Japanese version that he has feelings for her, but I never really saw her as a âpotential love interest.â I always saw her as his mother figure or parental guardian.Â
The one ship I can kind of see as compatible is Pit/Viridi, and even then thereâs the âage gapâ thatâs commonly disputed, since Viridi is said to be eight in human years. Not as big as the Pit and Palutena one, but itâs still there nonetheless.Â
I know thereâs a hella lot of debate about these charactersâ ages, whether they count as adults or not because, âtheyâre a thousand years old, theyâre basically immortalâ which is a whole ânother can of worms that I honestly donât wanna open.
Personally, I find it interesting when a popular work doesnât have a lot of room for shipping as opposed to a bunch of other franchises. It goes to show that romantic relationships are opportunities people can have, but theyâre not requirements.
