Let's assume that the "Pearl Swap" theory is correct, and our Pearl was once White Pearl. If you refract white light, say with a prism, you will get every color of the rainbow. White Pearl, as has been discovered, is an unsaturated pink. Therefore, it stands to reason that our Pearl may have once been grayscale, and the way we know her now is after she has been "saturated."

So obviously this question has been asked before and I just haven’t seen any of the discussions, but. Why does Pearl’s outfit from when she was assigned to Pink have all those colors on it? Blue sleeve ruffles, yellow on the chest. None of the other Pearls have more than just their diamond’s color on them. It’s always bugged me ever since this design was released.

You're Level 100 This one I knew but forgot about. I have no doubts that this is TKO talking for well over a minute of the episode (roughly starting at the 6-minute mark and ending at about 7:20). So, the latest Steven Bomb reminded me how much I love Steven Universe (which usually happens any time they dump a few new episodes on us), so I started trying to draw the guys and gals and realized, "Wow, I've never invented a fusion. I should do that." And so Zoisite was born, the fusion of Steven and Peridot. She's as excitable and energetic as either of them, with Steven's optimism and pragmatism as well as Peridot's self-confidence (read: arrogance) and technical prowess. Because Peridot is completely out of her element, her reactions tend to be the most noticeable, so Zoisite often resembles her more than Steven, especially when in a negative mood. Naturally, she possesses both of their Gem abilities, including levitation and ferrokinesis. She can only summon Steven's shield, which she uses either as a shield/weapon or a makeshift hoverboard. She also lacks shapeshifting abilities. I guess her theme is sort of... nerd? Like, that one girl who's really smart and dresses a little funny, but still makes it work somehow. (I've never made a Gem OC before. Help)

How come when you're working on a puzzle, the slightest nudge will send every connected piece in a five-foot radius scattering, but when you intentionally disassemble it, it takes nine hours with a surgical knife to separate them?
