I hate how parts of the fandom and worse, NETFLIX, treats Dandelion like a joke.
He’s either Geralt’s uwu husband that needs saving or an idiot just there for comic relief.
Dandelion is Geralt’s BEST FRIEND.
Come hell or high water, he’ll stick by him, even if death is a risk. (Ref. Baptism of Fire) Dandelion gets his skull shaved and still sticks around.
I actually loved this scene in season 2. Cuz it felt genuine.
And I LOATHE Netflix the Witcher.
But this moment felt true to the characters.

Same with this scene:

For once, I thought I was watching a good show.
the amazing devil. you agree
Normalize super close friendships instead of assuming there must be a romantic and/or sexual factor—friends are a wonderful treasure
For aro/ace writers:
- you don't have to write sex scenes. Tolkien didn't
- you don't have to write romance. Lewis didn't
- you can write very close friendships that have nothing romantic nor sexual in them. Scott Lynch did
- you can write sexual relationships that don't involve romance. Sapkowski did
- you can write romantic relationships that don't involve sex. Pratchett and Gaiman did
Don't let anyone tell you that some kinds of relationships are impossible or that a story must contain some themes. It's your story, write it the way you want

A little milva and cahir doodle I found and finished off or... redrew to a more presentable level.

from the iconic

In which Milva asks Regis for a trim, and she finds out about the vampire-mirror phenomenon

guyssss do you like my fuckass annotations
Regis' pathologic inability to shut the fuck up & Milva's no-nonsense monosyllabic responses have both charmed me utterly

Animal Crossing version of Geralt and Regis.
To the best of my abilities I use the ACNH castle wall combined with Tesham Mutnas exterior as reference.
I have been holding this one off for far too long. I believe the original sketch was a 1 1/2 years old.

I present to you:

Yennefer of vengerberg (again)
If any of you haven't watched this already please do oh my goodness!
The production quality is superb- highly engaging with excellent music choices and editing!
But more to the point the education on the Witcher is so thorough! I have struggled immensely to find a genuine critique of TWN but this is the video I have been waiting for!
I've spoken before about how whenever I tell people I like the Witcher they always say "oh I've heard that show is good" or something along the lines and I have to sit in deep disappointment and try not to burst into passionate rant about it and the Witcher books and why they are so profound and why the Netflix adaptation is such an injustice but this video says it all! So clear and concisely too.
I recommend it if you are interested in video essays as I find nimue an incredibly engaging essayist and if you're interested in the Witcher I also highly recommend!

After 6 months of hard work, I’m proud to bring you this (nearly) 3 hour long Witcher video essay:
The Rise and Fall of The Witcher
How did the fate of Poland in the shadow of World War II affect the development of Polish sci-fi and fantasy? How did "Witcher" get its start, and why was it such a literary phenomenon? Why do so many Witcher fans DISLIKE the Netflix show? What do George Orwell and Aldous Huxley have to do with any of this? In the wake of the Netflix series’ cancellation—with its fifth season being its last—I am retracing the story of The Witcher.
