You asked if I had any thoughts on Milva and I do actually! Her full name is Maria which is of italian origin and Milva is likely italian too. Her last name, Barring, can be traced to england and ireland so I like to think she's Sicilian-Irish! Also she *is* mentioned in the first Witcher game by Dandelion and has two Gwent cards in the third so they didn't completely forget about her in those it's just kind of easy to miss :')

milva’s character concept is soooo real though as a trope deconstruction because it’s like if there really was a sexy archer woman whose two talents are 1. being sexy and 2. archery, she would end up having a really complicated and devastating relationship with womanhood because of misogynistic men, and also because of the killing of said men, also to which she breaks down crying because her identity is tearing her in two. and the archery and bows take up 90% of her brain, so that it’s the only topic she finds truly interesting and wants to talk about. also she would be funny as hell and everyone would have died without her and she also would have died without them

I am both excited and slightly scared about how Milva will be portrayed in Netflix show. Cause in the books she was little bit "I'm not like other girls" type of girl, but at the same time stood up to abusers, tried to protect other women as best as she could, and when at one point Geralt and Cahir started fistfighting, she, as the only woman in the group, walked up to them (I was scared she'll do the "Geralt, look at me, this isn't you, just focus on my voice" bullshit) and beat the shit out of both of them with a leather belt until they stopped fighting. I love her.
