I got this idea of bug-elves sitting around my lore notes for some time where. Basically taking the fascinating collectivist structure of a euro-social insect colony and applying it to a society of sapient beings. Individual members are tiny and simple-minded, but through sheer number and coordination, they are capable of achieving great feats of strength and science. I only got one type here, but there could be dozens, if not hundreds of different species of elves based on all kind of ants, bees, wasps and termites, fitting to how elves tend to come in all kind of variants. I also like to imagine that they are still relatively tiny and everything from their buildings to their war machines are the size of toys.

Actually decided to watch Fiona and cake last weekend, it was a lot better than I expected. Anyway scarab is my favourite character.

As one viewer pointed out, Korugues are related to the krogues from irredeamable, being a less evolved form of them. They share most of the same traits, such as a lack of bones, long ears, and a high rate of mutations, but the degrees at which they are expressed is very different. Korugues are highly diversified compared to krogues, with populations adapting into completely different species for every type of climate and environment. Krogues meanwhile have reached a level of "peak adaptation" where their body is able to adjust to any and all environments without a need for the population itself to change.

Korugues are the main enemy types encountered during the game. They are an assortment of races and cultures from all over the flamebearer empire, united by a common hatred of their oppressors.

From left to right: Hills, river, forest, sea, plains, frost One aspect of the story that I`m pretty invested in is the contrast between how kind and motherly Jupe behaves toward her family, especially her children, and how little she respects and values anyone else. I expect that this will make her a lot more unlikeable than the usual protagonist, but i think that creates a lot of interesting opportunities for the story.
