Working on Art
I've spend a bit of time updating the art. I though it was about time I had a decent looking level. I'm still prototyping the abilities - but this was a nice change of pace for me.

Concept art for Arcadia- The Colony



The Observatory is the first area of the game Arcadia. In the first game idea, this Biome was a simple room where the player starts the game, but after the mood concept, we decided to build a tutorial level. It's one of the few areas built outside the Colony's cave, so we like to show a wonderful night sky. After working on the mood piece I integrated it into the level design and worked on the assets too.

Don`t think that was exactly what you meant, but you did inspire me to add a mechanic where the player gets bonus damage the more scarring they have. It should add some push to the end of arenas and boss fights where the player is most likely to need it.
The healing system require you to stand still and spend energy to heal. To add long term cost, healing also use the scarring mechanic from salt and sanctuary where you lose max health which can only be recovered at a checkpoint.
