Since the weapons are collected and upgraded from defeating recurring mini-bosses, i try to implement their quirks into the boss moveset whenever possible. In the case of this guy, from his second fight onward, he is able to vary how long he charges his shotgun depending on where the player is moving.
Concept art for Arcadia- The Colony

The Observatory is the first area of the game Arcadia. In the first game idea, this Biome was a simple room where the player starts the game, but after the mood concept, we decided to build a tutorial level. It's one of the few areas built outside the Colony's cave, so we like to show a wonderful night sky. After working on the mood piece I integrated it into the level design and worked on the assets too.
Armored Core and humanity
I find it pretty fascinating that Armored Core 6 makes the choice to never present a human face or body, only letting you interact with another person through their voice coming out of a giant robot or a profile picture. It gives the setting a pretty dehumanizing feeling. On the other hand, i have felt some really strong connection with the characters of that game. There a lot of effort to make these characters express who they are through the few outlets they have left Note: i have not played the other games yet, so i dont know if this pattern does or doesnt apply to the rest of the series.
I dont play much racing games, but i ve been enjoying f-zero 99 a whole lot. Usually, being in the back can be kind of unfun, even a bit discouraging, but you dont really get to feel that when being last place means that are you are now racing for your very life.
One of my favorite quirks of armored core is when you fight against a faction for one mission and then end up working for them the very next one.
