Response is snapped, and Gregory musters up the biggest glare he can possibly manage to shoot Evan's way. Which is, y'know. He's ten. It's not exactly the most effective thing in the world, as scathing as he tries to make it.

The older teen had told him it was probably a bad idea — that surely, they wouldn't be lucky enough for things to be easy. In his stubbornness, Gregory had told him to stay behind where it was sure to be safer, had insisted that everything would be fine but that if Evan were so scared, then he would handle this.

And his heart is still pounding after a close encounter with Roxy.

Comes the immediate shouted reply, his hands balling into fists at his side. He's frustrated. He's angry. ( though perhaps that isn't new. he's been angry for a long time, even before he stepped foot into the pizzaplex ). It's always like this — Michael, brushing him off when he asks about anything regarding that night, anything surrounding Fazbear Entertainment. And when Gregory decides to go seek the answers for himself, Michael is there to put a stop to it.

He says it's to keep him safe. All Gregory knows is he's being kept in the dark, and if he stays there any longer he's not going to be able to see what comes next. How can this be safer for him?

"I don't know shit! You won't fucking tell me!"

He's terrified. Nothing makes sense. He has so many questions regarding that night ( why him? what happened with the other missing children? why did vanny chose the pizzaplex? what was wrong with the other animatronics? what was that thing hiding beneath the floors? ) that keep him awake like a nightmarish mantra. Michael's hiding things from him ; that much had been obvious since he met the man, but it's only grown more apparent the longer they stay in proximity.

"Do you want me to pretend like that didn't happen? Because I can't! I'm already pulled into whatever the fuck this is, so I don't — why can't you just tell me?!"

★ — To be fair, he hadn’t meant to. 

It wasn’t like he expected Chica to drag him down the garbage chute alongside her. He’d even tried to stop it, kicking at the animatronic and trying to grab hold of anything he could on his way down. It had just all happened so fast — the relief of the compactor coming down ( which had also gotten far too close for comfort ) and the sudden panic upon realizing she hadn’t let go of his leg. 

It was fine, though. He’d landed okay, and their plan to put Chica out of commission had seemed to work for now. 

A small fist lifts to scrub at his cheek, a tactile touch to focus on rather than the slight guilt he feels with the concern. His gaze flickers away from Michael as a slight pout overtakes his features. It’s really all very dramatic ; he stays silent for a few more moments, before letting out as huff and dropping the hand at his cheek. 

“...sorry.” 

Barely audible, but enough. More than he’s given thus far — a sign that he’s even starting to trust the former night guard.
