I Was Curious About The One Trial L Lost Back In The Second Book I Think? What Made Him Lose That Trial,
I was curious about the one trial L lost back in the second book I think? What made him lose that trial, was it just the implication that he was ‘back’ with Light and that dicks with his head?
Oh my god that was so stupid, I actually figured out the case if L ever did talk about it (because I never know wtf he’ll do), so I’ll tell you a lil story.
L was representing a very wealthy client who was suing a dry cleaners for millions because they’d ruined his suit. Anyway, L lost, which wouldn’t be surprising ordinarily, but he had his 100% success record and all, and he fouled up his closing statement by laughing all the way through it. His mind wasn’t on the job, no, it was on a certain politician, and he was uncharacteristically cheerful. His argument was bullshit he invented about how this messed up suit was handmade by the client’s father using fabric passed down the family for generations. It has just been completed and was the last thing the client’s father gave to his son after the yacht they were on hit a rock and started to take on water. “Save the suit, son! Take it to dry land to cherish and pass on to my little grandson!“ the father said, saluting at the helm as the yacht sank and his son sat in the dinghy clutching the suit. So the emotional distress from the ruination of this suit was so great that the client was suing for millions in therapy costs, and the suit was irreplaceable, obviously.

Those!L and Those Light have dinner at Yagami Sr. HQ

Well, maybe it won’t go that badly.
Ages ago I got an ask about what happened when L and Light went to have dinner with Sachiko and Soichiro at the end of this chapter of Those Who Stand/Hinterland Doctrine, and I said that I wrote it but cut it from the story because it’s unnecessary and everything’s overlong anyway. Still, I found it yesterday when I was checking some old files, and it’s still kinda funny, I guess. If you want to read it then I just posted it here:

And if you like what I write and are feeling particularly generous for some reason, please consider buying me a coffee because I just set up a kofi account and it sounds too good to be true. What the hell, I harness its life-giving power to write and breathe! It’s not necessary to buy me a coffee though, so please don’t feel obliged. Let’s face it, I’ve written it for this long through buying my own coffee by picking berries in the wilderness and stringing them together to make magic amulets in order to visit other dimensions. If you can only support me and other creators in the fandom through reading and commenting then that’s just as excellent, so thank you. xxx
I know you get a lot of questions about Those, but I love the story so much and I'm very curious about it. But if you don't feel like answering, it won't bother me.
Anon, I don’t think you realise how amazing it is for me to be asked anything about that fic. I just try not to talk about it much unless someone mentions it or asks me something because it seems wrong to talk about it unprompted like some mad woman howling at the moon. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to howl at the moon with an excuse. I’m very happy that you like it. That makes me the happiest bunny!

(those who stand spoilers for anyone who hasnt read) i thought it was really interesting how Light reacted to L's 'death' in those, by basically going through denial and pretending he didn't care. do you think L would have acted the same way if the roles had been reversed? or how he reacted when stephen died?
He would have gone off the rails because weirdly Light keeps him on the rails at least some of the time. He has a big fight or flight response to almost anything but in that situation neither would help so he’d react hedonistically and indulge in many unadvisable pursuits to combat the loss and boredom.
