25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 3 - Deciding where you’ll spend Christmas
Masterlist

It was late afternoon, Taehyung was engrossed in one of his video games while I was attempting to catch up on some reading, only to keep getting distracted by the screen. Taehyung’s phone started buzzing on the coffee table in front of him.
“Oh. It’s my mum” he said, bringing the phone up to his ear, answering in Korean.
Since dating, Taehyung had been teaching me Korean, while his English had continued to improve due to my own speaking background. However, I was far from being a fluent speaker of the Korean language! I got up to grab a drink while Taehyung was on the phone to his mum, only catching the occasional word I recognised as well as my own name a few times. I continued to do a few small tasks while Taehyung caught up with his mum.
“How is she?” I smiled, once he hung up the phone.
“Good. She actually rang to ask what we were doing for Christmas.”
This was our second Christmas together, spending the previous year with my own family. Even then, Tae had already felt at home and a part of our family. I had assumed it would only be fair to spend Christmas with his this year, but we had yet to discuss it.
“I guess we’re still yet to decide. What are you thinking?” I asked.
“Mum said she’d love to have us come visit for a bit.”
“That sounds wonderful!” I had only met Taehyung’s family a handful of times, but always felt welcome around them. Plus the idea of spending Christmas in the town where Taehyung grew up really excited me.
“Really?” he smiled.
I sat down next to him, nodding.
“I guess I would just feel bad, you don’t get to see your family. I know how close you are.” He was always so considerate.
“They’ll be disappointed, but I know they will understand. You spent Christmas in Y/Country last year, so it’s only fair if we visit your family. And I would love if you showed me around where you grew up.”
“They’ll both be overjoyed, especially mum!” He smiled, pulling me in for a hug. “I can’t wait for your to experience a Korean Christmas!”
“Me either!”
“Maybe we can drive up a few days before?” He suggested.
“If the road trip involves Christmas carols then I’m in!”
“For sure! I’ll ring back mum and let her know we’ll be there” Taehyung smiled, as he scrolled to his mother’s contact on his phone, one of his arms still wrapped around my waist.

25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Update!
Firstly I just wanted to thank everyone who has read my work so far! I know it’s not perfect, and some have been better than others - but this is the first I’ve gotten back into writing after many years, so I do hope you have enjoyed my Christmas stories with Taehyung 😊
I know I have been behind on the days, and I’ve been doing my best to do at least write something each day. I also decided to combine some days as some of the prompts are very similar and I felt I could write one scenario with them, rather than similar stories. It also makes it easier to get more days out 😂
Finally, it’s a couple of days before Christmas and I still have a few prompts to write. I’m not sure how many I will get out before the 25th, as I’m organising a lot for Christmas, plus I may not be able to do much after. However, all the prompts should *hopefully* be out not long after!! So I will still be finishing the challenge (I’m determined!), it just might be a little late.
Thank you for welcoming me into the BTS writing community, for following this new blog, and for @writerofbts including me in this challenge!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas/Holiday/December 🥰💜🎄

Prompt: Day 11 - Cozy Nights by the Fire
Warnings - a little heated near the end
Authors note - this is not my title idea, it’s the title of a novel I read during this month and I thought it fit this story perfectly :)

Seoul was hit with yet another cold December evening. So after spending the day navigating stressed shoppers, ticking off the last of the Christmas gifts to buy and knocking out the grocery shopping as quick as I could, all I wanted to do was get home and straight into the hot shower.
“I’ll make a start on dinner, if you want to take a shower then, jagi” Taehyung offered after complaining to him about rude shoppers and my frozen toes.
“That would be lovely” I replied, pecking his lips lightly and forcing my heavy feat to carry me upstairs to our en suite.
I sighed as the high pressure shower poured the heated water over my body, the temperature something Taehyung always complained about if we shared the shower, saying I had it way too hot. Knowing he was just starting dinner, I took my time by washing my hair and exfoliating my face, being sure to look after my skin in the colder months.
After some time, I forced myself to turn off the tap and step out into the less warm bathroom, giving my hair a quick blow dry. Walking back into our room, I slipped on the Christmas pyjamas Taehyung gave me as my advent gift, grateful he knew to get me one size bigger so I could easily cover my cold hands and feet, as well as throwing on some fluffy socks.
I walked downstairs, expecting to be hit with the familiar smell of Taehyung’s home cooking. Instead, I walked into a kitchen that looked like it had barely been touched since I left.
“Tae?” I called out.
“In here” his reply coming from our living area.
I walked around the corner to be met with the room dimly lit, only illuminated by scattered candles and the open fire roaring. Taehyung was sat on the floor, tending to the fire, dressed in the pyjamas matching my own.
“What’s this all for?” A mixture of confusion and admiration on my face.
“No reason” he smiled, standing up to walk towards me “I always have such a busy schedule, so I want to make sure we have time for just the two of us” Taehyung wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling my hips against his own.
I looked around the room, taking note of two stemmed glasses sitting next to the bottle of wine and the array of snacks scattered on the coffee table. My head snapped back to his when our front doorbell rang.
“And that will be dinner” he said, dropping his arms and quickly walking to the front door. He returned within thirty seconds carrying two small boxes of pizza, sitting down with them in front of the fire.
“No phones. No tv. Just you and me” he said patting the space next to him.
I joined him on the floor, taking a slice of warm pizza. “Well you heard about my fairly shitty day” I smiled, taking a bite “what did you get up to today?”
We sat in front of the warm fire, nothing but our voices, the crackling fire and the faint volume of Christmas music playing through the speaker, filling the room. We spoke about our day, and caught up on each others lives. I told Taehyung about the plot of a novel I was currently reading, while he informed me of an art exhibition that would soon be in town that he really wanted to see. It was rare for Taehyung to have such huge breaks in his schedule which meant we didn’t get many nights like this, but when we did we always made sure to cherish them.
I tipped my head back, finishing my list sip of wine when Taehyung stood up, placing his own glass on the coffee table. “I have one more thing to make this night perfect” he spoke, forming an okay sign with his hand. “Sit down on the couch and close your eyes”
“Okay?” I laughed.
I felt the couch dip next to me, as he instructed me to open my eyes. I opened them to be met with Taehyung sitting opposite me, only to notice one of his hands hovering above his head. My eyes shifted up to see him holding a small plant. Mistletoe.
A smile spread across my face and I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Why are you laughing?” He pouted “do you not like it?”
I frantically shook my head “no! I just think you’re the most adorable person with such a unique mind, and I can’t believe you’re all mine.” I said, placing my hands on side of his face, wasting no time letting the mistletoe do it’s job.
Taehyung was quick to relax his lips against my own, disregarding the mistletoe behind him. His tongue glided against my bottom lip, begging me to let him in. My breath hitched as his hands moved up my waist and under my shirt, mine toying at the waist of his jeans, making him growl against my lips. I tugged against his bottom lip, causing him to whimper as I broke the kiss. His eyes questioned me, but I soon began leaving a trail of kisses along his bold jaw line before finding the soft spot below his ear to kiss and nip at. A low moan escaped from his mouth, a sound I would never tire of hearing.
I pulled at the hem of his white shirt, Taehyung finally getting the hint and pulling it over his head. I ran my hands over his smooth caramel skin, the light from the fire illuminating his complexion. “I must have done something really good in a past life, to be rewarded with someone like you, Kim Taehyung,” running my fingers along his prominent collar bones, draping my hands behind his neck.
“Let me see how beautiful you are” he smiled, helping me pull my own top over my head. Smiling, Taehyung ran his hand up the back of my neck, pulling my lips to his own once again. He shifted so he could lay down on the couch, pulling me down onto him, as the fire continued to burn well into the night.

Prompt: Day 4 - The Last BTS Show Before Christmas
Masterlist

I was sat side stage at the last BTS show of the tour, my boyfriend and his band performing their final song to the Seoul crowd. The audience cheered as the boys said their thank yous and goodbyes, embracing each other as they came off stage. Myself and a few other girlfriends clapped for the talented group, beaming at how proud we all were.
Once they had finished congratulating each other I ran over to Taehyung and embraced him in hug, not caring how sweaty he was!
“Do I even have to tell you how amazing you were, and how proud I am of you” I said, placing a kiss on his lips.
“Yes, because I never tire of hearing you say it” he smiled, his cheeks still flushed from performing. “Sorry I’m so sweaty by the way.” He said, causing me to hug him tighter.
***
“Management has organised a meal to celebrate?” Namjoon informed the group.
“Sounds good!” Hoseok replied, as we all followed each other back to their dressing room for the boys to freshen up.
I sat down, talking to Taehyung while he got changed “how do you feel that another tour is over?”
“It’s always a little sad, but it will be nice to finally have a break for a bit” he replied, unbuttoning his white shirt and slipping it off. I couldn’t help looking down at his fit, caramel figure, even after two years of dating. He didn’t have the six pack that most girls would drool over, but he was perfect to me. If he noticed me staring he didn’t say anything, spraying himself before slipping a simple white shirt over his head.
“Everyone ready?” Hoseok asked, slinging his bag over his shoulder, a mumble of ‘yes’es from the boys. I stood up, grabbing my own bag from the table as Taehyung did the same. As we started walking he slipped his hand in my own, giving me a small smile as we headed out to the vans.
***
Their management had hired out a function room at a very expensive restaurant in the city, kindly supplying a meal for the band, their girlfriends, management and the tour crew. Everyone was enjoying a couple of drinks, following the very filling meal. I was sat catching up with Jimin’s girlfriend, when I felt the couch dip next to me and a head resting on my shoulder.
“I should probably go and see where Jimin is at” she said looking at Taehyung and then back at me, smiling, before standing up to find her boyfriend.
Taehyung lifted his head, as I turned to look at him. “Hello you” he smiled, a mixture of sleep and intoxication evident in his eyes.
“Hello there” I smiled.
“You know something, you’re the most beautiful person in this room” the smell of vodka hinted on his breath.
“I think that’s the alcohol talking” I laughed.
He took my own drink out of my hand and placed it on the table in front of us, grabbing both my hands and shaking his head “No. I could lose my vision tomorrow and you will still be the most beautiful person in any room.”
Before I even had the chance to answer his lips were pressed firmly against my own. Alcohol always seemed to make Taehyung more confident and become overly affectionate in public. Thankfully the room was dimly lit, and everyone else was too invested in their drinks and conversation to even notice us in the corner.
His lips tasted of a mix between the alcohol and the fruity flavoured lip balm he had recently put on. When we pulled away he placed his forehead against my own “I love you, Y/N” he whispered.
“I love you too, Tae.”
He smiled, resting his head on my shoulder, closing his eyes. I looked down at my phone which showed it was 2:30am. “I think it’s time we got you home” which received a sleepy nod in reply.
We said our goodbyes to the boys and thanked their management for the meal, before quietly slipping out to a waiting taxi.
***
It was after 3am when I had finished removing my make up and changed into my pyjamas. I walked out of our en suite to find Taehyung already in bed lightly snoring. I climbed in next to him, turning off the bed side lamp. Without waking up, he wrapped his arm around me as he felt me lie down next to him, always needing something to hold when he slept.
“Goodnight my super star” I whispered, before closing my eyes and snuggling into him.

*Buzz*
I ran over to my apartment intercom, pressing the speaker.
“Y/N! Are you ready for dinner?” Taehyung announced through the machine.
“Hi Taehyung! I’ll let you up.”
I felt nervous around Taehyung before because he was a cute guy showing me affection, but now that I knew what a big name he was, my nerves skyrocketed as he approached my apartment. I just hoped he told me soon, because I hated the thought of keeping it from him that I knew.
He had messaged me a few days earlier to say the restaurant we were going to was quite prestigious, and suggested I should wear my best dress (it was a polite way of warning me that I wouldn’t want to show up in the wrong dress code!) After many outfit crises, I went for a laced lilac bodycon dress, with a square shoe-string strap top. I also went to the extra effort to loosely curl my hair. I sat down to put on my sensible, but classy, heels and waited for Taehyung to arrive.
Even the knock at my door matched his cool demeanour. As I opened it, I was amazed by how many times this guy could wow me with his fashion. He wore black pants and black slip-on dress shoes with gold trimming. Tucked into his belt was a subtle floral button up shirt, and I didn’t miss that the top button was undone.
“You look.. stunning” he exclaimed, as I noticed his eyes grazed up and down my figure, before quickly darting to my eyes as he smiled.
“Is it okay to wear?” I asked nervously trying to adjust the dress, unsure sure how to react.
“Definitely” he confidently smirked, heat rushing to my face. “Shall we head off then?”
I nodded happily, grabbing my coat from the couch and locking the door behind us.
***
We made our way into the notably fancy restaurant, my arm linked around his. A smartly-dressed man bowed as we entered, as Taehyung announced reservations under his name. The man led us past an array of diners until I noticed we were near the back of the restaurant. He stopped us at a table located at a full length corner window showing a stunning view of Seoul’s lights at night, and trees strung with warm fairy lights. The table was lined with a few candles, highlighting a place card reading VIP Only.
After thanking the employee, Taehyung walked over to one of the chairs, pulling it out and gesturing me to sit. Before I did, he placed his hands on my shoulders and gently removed my coat. I couldn’t help but notice his warm hands slightly brushing against my bare shoulders.
He smiled brightly as he sat down opposite me “are you comfortable?”
“Yes, thank you! It’s a beautiful spot” I said, looking out over the city.
A waiter appeared at our table, handing us each a menu and pouring us each a glass of wine. Taehyung prompted me to have a read of the menu. I must not have hidden my worried face after looking at the prices of each dish, because he was quick to comment. “My shout, Y/N.”
“I don’t expect you..” I argued, but he cut me off by shaking his head.
“It’s fine, I want to” he smiled. “Although, I guess you are wondering how I can afford a place like this..” he began tracing around the bottom of his wine glass.
“Well..”
Taehyung looked up at me. I smiled guiltily, causing him to chuckle. “I thought you might figure it out.”
“I was curious about your music..” I said, laughing in defence.
“It’s fine” Taehyung laughed “So? Do you like it?”
I nodded frantically “you’re incredibly talented! All of you.”
“Thank you” his boxy grin spreading across his face “you probably know the story of BTS now?”
“I’d much rather hear it from you than a bunch of internet articles” I smiled, taking a sip of wine.
***
“Can I ask you a question?” I said quietly, after hearing how Taehyung became such a successful idol. He simply nodded. “Why me?” I asked.
Taehyung looked at me, ever so slightly tilting his head to the side, unsure of what I meant.
“I mean, why did you talk to me that day? And choose to take me out to a place like this?”
He shrugged his shoulders, but smiled sweetly “I don’t know?”
Not really the answer I was wanting to hear..
“Sorry! I don’t mean that in a bad way! It’s just.. there was something about you. The way you showed love to your dog, I could see how caring you are. And that’s something I’ll always look for in a friend.”
I felt my heart drop into my stomach as that last word left Taehyung’s lips. I wanted to sink down into my chair and disappear, cursing myself for thinking he was actually interested in anything more. My eyes met Taehyung’s and he smiled, clearly unaware I was expecting him to say anything else.
“Plus it was refreshing meeting someone who didn’t know who I was” he said lightly, before looking down at his food “sometimes it’s hard to know who is your friend because of you or because of your fame.”
I could see the sadness behind his eyes.
“That is.. if you still want to be friends?” He continued. “I understand if this world is all a bit much.”
I was quick to shake my head “of course I do Taehyung, you’re a good friend and I’m glad I met you” I smiled, trying to hide my disappointment. “Plus, I don’t think Tannie and Kanna would be very happy!” I laughed, Taehyung agreeing as he laughed too.
“So.. what about Taehyung away from BTS? How do you enjoy to spend your free time?” I asked, still wanting to know more about Taehyung the person, not the idol.
“I like photography. And art” he smiled fondly. “I also like to learn the occasional instrument.”
“Wow, you certainly keep yourself busy. What sort of photos do you take?”
“Anything really. I like to capture things I love. Whether that’s scenery or people. I just really like having a snapshot of something beautiful.” He spoke so passionately, I could listen to him speak all day.
A main course, dessert and a whole bottle of wine later we decided it was time to call it a night.
“Thank you for dinner, Taehyung. I had a wonderful time” I said as we got out of his car at the front of my apartment building.
“Thank you for spending time with me tonight” he smiled softly, pulling me in for hug. “Let’s catch up again soon.”
“I’d love that” I agreed, slightly disappointed to know that this hug was only one shared between friends.
But a friend I was happy to have.

“Tae..?” I softy opened the door to his studio seeing he was still hunched over his computer, working on lyrics. It was nearly 11pm, and he had been working all day, only taking a break for dinner - which he ate quickly without saying much, in order to return to his desk.
“Tae” I repeated “it’s getting late, why don’t you come to bed and rest.”
He threw his head back, groaning “I can’t Y/N, this needs to be done!”
“But you might feel more refreshed tomorrow” I pushed.
“Management needs them by the end of the week and I barely have anything good” he complained, obviously stressed.
“I’m sure what you’ve got is fine, you’re just stressed and overworked. I really thin-”
Taehyung cut me off “I’m stressed because you keep pushing me to come to bed when I’m trying to work!” Annoyance in his voice.
“I’m only pushing because I care about you, and your health” my own voice starting to raise at him.
“If you cared so much about me you’d leave me alone to get this fucking work done then!”
Taehyung and I had our fair share of couple disputes, but they were usually about trivial things, easily solved with a quick apology and a good cuddle session.
“Maybe if you stop acting like a spoiled brat! You’ve done nothing to help all day!”
“No, I’m just trying to earn money so you can have a good Christmas!” he yelled.
“Which I chose to spend with you, Taehyung! Over my family.”
“Fuck Y/N, then go and spend Christmas with your family! I couldn’t care less.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened, immediately regretting the words leaving his lips, but the damage was done. Tears began to form in my eyes, and to avoid him seeing me cry I stormed out of his studio, shouting how self-absorbed he was. One part of me wanted to embrace him and help him de-stress, but that was overpowered by how frustrated I was with him. This was the first he had ever really hurt me, and I couldn’t even stand to look at him right now. I eventually fell asleep on top of the bed covers, my eyes heavy from crying.
***
I awoke a few hours later to find that I had been covered with a blanket. I turned to find no Taehyung next to me, but could hear muffled crying downstairs. I swung my legs out of bed, pulling down Taehyung’s shirt, which sat much larger on me. As my bare feet pressed against the carpet, I found him sitting in the lounge, his head in his hands. I sat down next to him, enveloping him into a hug, his head pressed above my chest.
“I’m sorry jaji” he sniffled, defeated. “You know I didn’t mean a word of what I said.”
“It’s fine baby, we both said things we didn’t mean”
“You know I wouldn’t want to spend Christmas with any one else. I regretted those words as soon as I said them” he sighed.
“It did really hurt me” I said, causing Taehyung to hang his head, ashamed of what he had said. “But I know you were just frustrated” I soothed, rubbing his arm.
“It was no excuse for yelling at you though, you only wanted what was best for me. And I knew that”
“I did. But I also shouldn’t have been so insistive when I knew you were stressed. I’m sorry I made it worse. Do you feel any better” I asked
He nodded “I’m sorry I made you cry yourself to sleep as well. I hate that I was the reason for that.”
I kissed his tear stained cheek. “If you feel like you’ve got too much pressure on you, you should speak to someone. At least talk to me. Please?”
“I put the pressure on myself. I wanted these lyrics done before Friday because.. I’ve had flights book for Saturday morning..”
“To where? What for?”
“Y/Country”
“Tae..”
“I’m happy we get to spend Christmas with my family, but I also want us to spend time with your family. Maybe have an early Christmas Day with them.” he smiled. “What I said earlier about not caring couldn’t be less true.”
“I can’t believe you did this” I could feel the tears forming in my eyes once again, but this time out of happiness.
“This wasn’t the way I wanted to tell you. It was suppose to be an early Christmas present” he laughed, sighing. “Your parents helped me organise it. We’re staying with them for a week.”
“I don’t know what I did to deserve you” unable to wipe the smile off my face “you truly are the most thoughtful person.”
Taehyung pulled me onto his lap, and I brushed his wavy hair away from his eyes. He softly pressed his lips against my own. We didn’t need a passionate make out session, we just needed to feel the other person, to know we were there for each other.
I rested against Taehyung’s chest, as he laid back on the couch. Silence enveloping us in the dimly lit room, allowing us to just be there together.
“Did you finish the lyrics” I asked softly after a while.
“I did actually” he laughed “I think all the emotions I was feeling inspired some creative flow or something.”
“What’s the song about?”
“Us” he smiled.
I didn’t answer, worried our fight had led him to write something negative.
“It’s about how much I hate fighting with you and how depressed I feel when we’re not talking.”
“Can I hear it” I quietly asked.
He grabbed a small pile of paper from the coffee table, I could see areas had been crossed out and written over until the perfect lyric was found. He quietly sang in his soft, deep voice, exactly how he felt, fully vulnerable in front of me.
I didn’t think it was possible to fall even more in love with him, but here we were on the couch at 2am, the only light coming from the lamp behind us. Both our eyes red from crying, and I had never loved him as much as I did in this moment.
