So...as a Dany stan, my home is not in Dany's hope symbolism...

​It's in the way George explores her fierceness, the thing inside of her that makes her be the one to wake the dragons. Why HER? I’d wager, it’s because she is not afraid. She wants to take the Iron Throne for her ancestors the conquerors. For her dead brother Rhaegar. For her son. When Viserys, her king, struggles toward the end, Dany asks Jorah, “What if it were someone else?” She is intuitively trying to figure out how to hatch the dragons. And Rhaego is reaching out to the black stone egg. And she dreams and dreams of dragons hatching and burning and draws strength from their cleansing fire. In fact, she IS the dragon. She’s looking for a way to hatch the others. She’s looking for a weapon. But everything falls apart too quickly, so she can’t claim one fast enough. She has nothing going for her. But she still goes on. Indeed, she is someone who might do anything. (Per George.)

I’ll finish with this: It always leads me to wonder if Dany subconsciously CONSIDERED the blood in the corpses of her husband and son when she had Mirri join them. Rhaego, Drogo, their souls were gone. But…Dany knew that SHE was the dragon and had learned the procedure to wake the others. (Thanks, Mirri.)

God, Jaime Lannister cared so fucking much what Brienne of Tarth thought of him. 15 years. Fifteen god damn years of being called the Kingslayer. His unofficial title, the way he’ll definitely be described in the White Book posthumously, states that he’s an oath breaker, that he killed his liege that he swore to protect. Never did he, not fucking once, defend himself from that title. Not once did he reveal that he was protecting Kings Landing from a cruel king. Not once did he justify his actions that paint him as, whether or not you give a fuck about the targs, a bad guy. A turncloak. An oath breaker. A man who was pardoned because of who he was to the new King. He didn’t give a fuck if people thought he was honorable or not.

And then Brienne of Tarth calls him Kingslayer to his face. He can’t stand that, and it’s not long before he’s revealing his motivations to her. He dreams about her. He gifts her a priceless sword called Oathkeeper. He cares so so much about her opinion of him. He fixates on his honor after they part ways and he probably hopes that word of his honorable actions, his refusal to spill Tully blood, reaches the ears of the Maid of Tarth.

One thing that always gets me, is Quellon Greyjoy. You got this ✨tall✨ scary dude who could have been a big fucking threat but decides to be a reformer. He tries to fix the reputation of the Iron Islands and the Greyjoys. And he dies in the most Ironborn way, in battle at sea, probably thinking at least "I did something to be proud of and the Islands are on the way to a better relationship with Westeros". But then his kids are literally an eldritch horror, a dumb thot, a religious fanatic and one short king and they just undo all of his work in like five mins. You cannot convince me that Quellon was not looking up from the depths of the Drowned God's watery halls like
