Second Chances - Dean Winchester Imagine

Dean x reader

Summary: You meet Dean after a year without him, only to have a little happy surprise for him.

You were sprawled across the grass as you watched Sam fall into the pit. Tears wet your eyes watching your best friend fall to save everyone else. You knew he had to put Lucifer back in Hell but it made it hurt no less. He was your best friend, someone you could turn to and here he was falling to his doom.

You watched as the ground closed up and Dean crawled over to it. You closed your eyes letting your head drop to the ground as you sobbed. You were both bruised and bloody, Lucifer having gotten angry. Dean had taken the brute of his for but that didn’t mean you had gotten off lightly either.

It felt like years before a hand landed on your shoulder. You looked up to see Castiel standing above you. How? He had exploded moments ago. Dean was knelt behind him his eyes on your face. He was healed, all the blood from his face gone. You raised your own hand and felt no tender spots on your flesh. Cas had healed you.

Dean took you in his arms pressing a kiss to your head. You were parting ways. Dean was getting out of this life, just like Sam had asked. And you, well you were diving into a werewolf case a state over. You cuddled into his shoulder. ‘I’ll call’ He whispered. You nodded knowing he wouldn’t, not after the first few month. ‘Go be happy Dean. She’s lovely’ You pulled away and pressed a kiss to his cheek. ‘You deserve this, and don’t worry. You got the rest of us to do the job’ Dean smiled down at you.

And that was the last time you ever seen the Impala. You watched it as it drove down the dirt road away from both you and Bobby, and away from your life. Dean was in that car, going to find comfort after his brother dying in another woman’s arms. She could give him the comfort and stability you never could. She could give him a life.

To say the news a month later was a shock would be an understatement. You had sat staring at the small object for an hour. You sat at Bobby’s table waiting for him to come back. He was just as shocked as you, but the shock soon wore off and he had forced you to do something you hadn’t since becoming a hunter. Think about your future

That had all been a year ago. Now, you had your hand down your sink trying to grab whatever was blocking it. It was a world away from what you used to do. From hunting to this. You were lucky, when your Mother and Father had died when you were a little girl and left you a major inheritance. So you were living a comfortable life. After buying a house in a quiet secluded neighbourhood you had settled down completely.

There was a knock on the door and you looked up. ‘Come in’ You called out and your fingers wrapped around the piece of bone that was stuck in the drain. You heard a loud set of footsteps coming through the house. ‘Evening Sam’ You broke the bone pulling it from the drain. ‘Hello, Y/n’ It was then that you heard the second set of footsteps.

You turned and your eyes widened. Be Sam stood his brother. Dean

You smiled slightly your eyes glancing towards the ceiling towards upstairs. ‘What are you doing back Dean?’ You asked as you began to put the sink back together. Sam pulled out a seat at your table making himself at home. He should. He had helped you pick out the house, it was in Lawrence, you thought it would be a good thought. Sam, oddly, hadn’t cared about the sentiment. He hadn’t cared about much really, apart from a few things.

Dean watched Sam make himself comfortable. ‘Had to come back in’ Dean shrugged. ‘What about you? Sam said you’re out. Didn’t tell me why’ You nodded turning to look at the two boys. ‘Too dangerous, just needed to get out of the game. Sit down make yourself comfortable you want di-’ You were cut off by a cry from upstairs.

Sam’s head snapped towards the sound his eyes shining. ‘Sorry’ You muttered and ran from the room before Dean could begin with the questions. And you knew there would be, from the confused look on his face, the way his eyebrows knitted together and the slightly parted lips.

You pushed the door open and the noise got louder. ‘Hsh, sweety, shh’ You bent over the wooden crib and gently scooped the baby boy up in your arms. ‘Shh’ You began to rock him back and forth. ‘This is why you got out?’ Dean’s shocked voice came from the doorway.

You spun around holding the still crying boy to your chest. Sam appeared behind him panting slightly. ‘I-I tried to stop him’ He looked at you. His eyes fell on the baby and he began to smile. ‘Hey there kiddo’ He pushed by Dean. ‘Come on’ He chuckled walking up to you. ‘Stop giving Mom a hard time’ He leaned forwards and Sam took the small baby from your arms.

You looked at Dean. ‘Yeah, he said Mom’ Sam began to bounce gently wiggling his finger in front of your baby as he stopped crying and tried to catch it in his tiny hands. ‘You had a baby’ Dean breathed and stepped into the room. ‘Where’s the Dad?’ He looked around. ‘He working? I seen no photos downstairs’ Sam looked up at you and you gulped.

He nodded slightly and looked away from you down to the baby again. ‘He isn’t here, never has been’ Dean’s eyes narrowed. ‘So the Son of a Bitch just left you’ Dean seethed as he crossed his arms his eyes on your baby. ‘He didn’t know’ You followed his eyes. He hadn’t taken them off the baby yet. His eyes snapped up. ‘A one night thing’ You shrugged.

He took your hand in his. ‘Something like that, he was with another woman, he was happy. I tried but he was happy’ Dean grumbled and took you into his arms. ‘Son of a Bitch had a wife, low life cheat’ Sam let out a booming laugh. ‘Definitely not that Dean’ He smiled as your baby grabbed his finger and tugged it towards his face.

You pulled away from Dean and turned back to Sm. There was silence for a few moments. ‘How come Sam knew and not me?’ Dean snapped grabbing your arm. ‘You could have told me’ You looked up at him. ‘Sam came back to me the minute he came back. He was there for me, when I found out through the pregnancy, at the birth. The whole time. He just knew’You looked up at him. You had to tell him. ‘You were with another woman’ You breathed.

Dean scoffed. ‘You could have told me you needed someone, I would have been ha-’ You reached out and put your hand over his mouth and he glared down at you. ‘Sam had every right to know his nephew Dean’ You breathed. He needed to know. It had cut you up inside not telling him. But when you had found out you had tried. He was happy, very happy. Lisa and Ben were good for him, you couldn’t ruin that. Especially when you could cope on your own. And you had Sam.

Dean’s eyes widened and he looked from you to the little boy in his brothers arms. Tears filled his eyes and his lip trembled. ‘I-I’m the Dad? He’s my son’ His voice was soft, quiet and had a hope you had never heard before in the older Winchester. You nodded. ‘Yeah, Nathan John Winchester’ You muttered and a large smile broke out across his face.

Tears ran down his cheeks and he let go of your arm. ‘After our Fathers’ You nodded and he stepped closer to Sam. Sam looked up at you and you nodded. ‘I think it’s time his Father held him’ Sam stepped forwards and Dean held his arms out. Gently Sam handed Dean his son.

Dean looked down at him, awe etched into every feature of his handsome face. ‘Hey there buddy’ He cooed running his finger over Nathan’s cheek. ‘I’m your Daddy’ He smiled down at the smiling baby in his arms. Sam smiled slightly and walked by you. He patted your shoulder. ‘I’ll make some food’ He kissed your forehead before leaving.

That left you alone in the nursery with Dean. ‘It was that night wasn’t it?’ He didn’t look up at you. ‘A week before Sam went into the pit, the night we got drunk’ You nodded it walking over to him. You stopped in front of him and cooed at your son. ‘I’m sorry I never told you, but I’m still in. I still do research and give out info and things’ You looked up at Dean. ‘I’m still half in, I’m not a hunter anymore but I’m still in the life. You were out. I’m sorry’ Dean leaned forwards and pressed a lingering kiss to your forehead.

He shrugged. ‘It’s alright’ He nodded. you knew there would still be a discussion, if not an argument, later. He was just too shocked, happy and content right now to have anything bother him. Not even the fact you had kept his son from him.

Dean smiled widely as he reached out. He grabbed you tugging you into his side smiling down at you both. ‘I don’t care about that. We have a son Y/n, a son’ He beamed and you wrapped your arms around him. ‘Yeah, we do’ You smiled up at him. You reached out brushing your son’s soft blonde hair.

Dean squeezed you slightly and you looked up at him. ‘We’ve got a second chance Y/n’ He breathed. ‘We can be a family, what ye say?’ You smiled and nodded. ‘Yeah, I like the sound of that’ Dean leaned down pressing a soft kiss to your lips. You both pulled away laughing as your son began whining and giggling pulling at your finger.

Dean smiled down at you his eyes sparkling with happiness. He had his family.

Daryl Finds You Hurt And Alone

Daryl finds you hurt and alone

You kept your leg pressed against the door as the walker pounded on it. Your hand was pressed firmly against your shoulder. The blood was seeping through the shirt you had pressed against it staining it deep red. The door opened a little and you threw yourself against the door closing it again.

You should have stayed running. You should have stayed going you might have found a way out, or even a door with a damn lock. A door with a lock would have been amazing right now. But here you were, stuck in a janitors closet bleeding out, with no lock. It was the bleeding out thing that made you stop, you couldn’t stay going.

You were so tired, your body was sore and every now and then your vision would spin for a second or two.  So here you were stuck in a bloody broom closet four walkers outside the door and you with no way to kill them. You weren’t sure waiting them out would do, you weren’t sure you really had that in you.

You closed your eyes and sighed. ‘I’m sorry’ You whispered to the air. ‘I’m sorry I couldn’t do this, I promised but I couldn’t do it’ The idiot you had been on a run with had started shooting up the place bringing walkers from every nook and cranny. There had been too much, you had exhausted your supply of weapons.

Now you would end up walker chow.

You jumped as there was a thud outside the door. Then another. And another. You felt the pressure on the door begin to lessen. Then a fourth thud. And the groans were gone. Silence outside the door. There was someone there.

You pushed yourself off the ground. The world span and you stumbled falling against the wall. When everything went back to its rightful place you reached out opening the door.

It swung open and you were met by a pile of dean walkers. Each with an arrow through their head. You looked up. Your eyes landed on the most perfect man alive, at least at this moment.

Daryl Dixon.

You let a weary smile spread across your face. Daryl began to lower the bow he was holding against his shoulder. ‘Daryl’ You breathed putting your hand out leaning against the doorway. ‘Y/n, hell happened?’ He started forwards. You just smiled at him again before the world went dark

The bright light that was hanging above you forced you to keep them closed. You tried to roll over but you were constricted. Pain flared through your shoulder and you groaned. You tried to move you hand to cover you eyes from the light. A rope bit into your wrist. ‘Y/n?’ You had never heard so much fear in someone voice. ‘Say anytin, lemme know yer alri’ You wanted to talk but when you opened your mouth all that came out was a groan.

Your throat was dry and you couldn’t talk. You turned your head to the side to open your eyes but the glare off the light was still to harsh. You tugged on the ropes harder wiggling your hand to see if they’d come off. ‘I’m sorry’ You heard a whisper. ‘D-d’ You growled and you felt something press against your temple. A gun.

You began to struggle more. Pain flared through your shoulder but you were only concentrating on one thing, talking. You tried to croak out his name. ‘I shoulda got there sooner’ You hear the click of it being loaded. ‘M-me’ You groaned. ‘Da-daryl’ You felt the gun press harder into your temple.

And then it disappeared. ‘Y/n’ His voice was closer and you felt the bed you were lying on dip. ‘Say sometin else’ You cracked open an eye to see him leaning close. You felt a hand on your face as he brushed the hair off your face. ‘S’me’ You grunted. ‘Li-li-’ You nodded towards the bright light.

His hand disappeared. ‘Hershel’ He called as the light clicked off. With the new darkness of the cell you were able to open your eyes. You were met with the sight of Daryl frantically untieing your hands. ‘We had te do it, just incase’ He glanced up at you. You nodded ‘Ah, nice to see you awake’ You looked to the door of your cell.

You tried to push yourself up but Daryl pushed you back down. ‘Not until you get the all clear’ He grumbled giving you a small rare smile. ‘Daryl, grab me some water?’ Hershel patted his shoulder. Daryl looked up at him shrinking from his touch. He nodded giving your hand a quick squeeze before leaving the cell.

Hershel looked back down at you. ‘You’ve been out about three days’ He nodded to the drip coming from your arm. ‘He’s been sitting in here everyday, as much as he can. Only left twice to grab some things for you and come back’ He told you as he checked you over. He furrowed those bushy white brows when he seen your shoulder. ‘You took a turn for the worst yesterday’ He leaned away from you. Then he was back with a needle and thread.

Daryl walked back in just as he was finishing stitching you wound again. ‘Blow a stitch?’ He asked with a flask of water in his hand. ‘Seems like it’ Hershel nodded to you. ‘She’ll need the water’ Daryl dropped to his knees beside you. ‘Take it easy for a week or two’ Hershel told you as Daryl helped you sit up. ‘Bedrest for at least two days’ You took the flask from Daryl and began to drink deeply.

You let out a long sigh licking you dry lips. ‘Thanks’ You croaked. Hershel was gone, he must have left when you were drinking the water. ‘Least I could do’ Daryl stood and sat on the edge of the bed facing you. ‘For what? You got me outs there, few seconds more and I wouldn’t be here’ You smiled up at him. He shrugged. ‘Few seconds earlier ye wouldn’t have been in there, That-’ He nodded towards your shoulder. ‘-wouldn’t have happened’  You shrugged with your good shoulder.

You leaned forwards and pressed your lips to his cheek. ‘Was perfect timing Daryl’ You whispered in his ear pressing another kiss to his cheek after your words. He gave you a shy smile when you pulled away. ‘Hershel said you stood guard’ He looked away . ‘And don’t give me the whole it was for the safety of the group thing’ You watched him shift.

He sighed and turned to you. ‘It had te be me, I had te put you down. I couldn’t let anyone else’ You nodded understanding. You had been with Daryl the longest, if it was anyone you would have wanted it to be him. ‘Thank you’ You took another gulp of water. ‘Thought I lost ye’ He looked away from you not wanting to show the vulnerability.

You reached out taking his hand in yours. ‘I ain’t dying Daryl, you ain’t that lucky’ He looked down at your hands as you chuckled at your joke. ‘Hope I never am’ He looked up at you. He reached his other hand out and wrapped it around the back of your neck.

He leaned forwards and pressed his lips to yours. It was a quick chaste kiss and he pulled away. He watched you a cautious look on his face. You let a small giggle fall from your lips. ‘If almost dying only got me that I don’t want to know what I have to do for a longer one’ Daryl smirked and leaned in again.

This time the kiss was longer and he held you tighter. You smiled when he pulled away. ‘Ye lost a lot eh blood, sleep’ He leaned up and pressed a kiss to your forehead his lips lingering on your skin. You nodded and he helped you to lie back down.

You turned over onto your good side. Daryl pushed your hair off your face and kissed your temple, the one he had pressed his gun to earlier. ‘Thank you’ You smiled at him. He nodded before sitting back down onto the floor on the other side of the cell.

He shot you one last smile before you closed your eyes very thankful Daryl had found you just in time.

First Dance - Wedding

First Dance - Wedding

You sat with Sam giggling. He looked amazing in his black suit. He was smiling widely at something Dean had just said. Sam’s hand landed on your thigh and he squeezed it through the dress. You looked away from the elder Winchester to your now husband. He leaned forwards and pressed his lips to yours before pulling away quickly. ‘You look beautiful’ He breathed. You laid your hand over his and smiled. ‘You’ve told me that about a million times today’ He laughed and kissed you again. ‘It’s true’ You blushed.

You shrugged looking down at the dress you were wearing. It wasn’t much, just a simple sweetheart lace dress. It was something you and Jo had gotten, Jo being your bridesmaid for the ceremony. ‘Thank you, husband’ You giggled and his smile spread. It lit up the room. You almost melted there and then. ‘God, I love that’ He leaned forwards again pressing his lips firmly to yours.

You sighed contently leaning into the taller Winchester. Your hand reached up to the side of his face. ‘Oi, Sammy’ You all heard and you pulled away from Sam. Your face went bright red when you realised everyone was looking at you. There wasn’t many people gathered here just friends and family. Neither of you had wanted a large wedding. You only needed the people closest to you.

Dean clapped Sam on the shoulder laughing. ‘Why don’t you save that for tonight buddy and get out there now?’ He winked at you both. ‘What?’ He asked. But chuckled when he heard your song playing over the speakers.

Sam stood and held out his hand to you. ‘May I have this dance Mrs Winchester?’ He smiled down at you. Your face lit up at the last part, you could get used to him calling you that. You nodded and took his hand standing quickly.

You gathered up the bottom of the dress as Sam lead you into the small dance floor. He turned you into him. His hand landed on your waist and he pulled you towards him. He readjusted your hands and you reached p putting your hand on his shoulder. He began to sway gently and you followed his lead.

He smiled looking down at you and you met his eyes. He smiled widely. ‘I know you don’t like all the eyes on you but just pretend it’s just you and me’ He whispered as the music played in the background. He pressed a kiss to your forehead. You smiled up at him nodding. He spun you and you giggled. You weren’t the best dancer but Sam knew what he was doing. He swept you up in his arms and you just needed to follow his lead.

You leaned into him further as he smiled. ‘It’s official’ He chuckled at your statement and nodded. ‘We’re actually married Sam’ Sam threw his head back and laughed a little. ‘Yes, we are. I married the love of my life’ You blushed looking down at his chest. ‘Don’t get all shy on me now Mrs Winchester, you’ve married me now. There’s no going back’ You gasped as he dipped you. Your head fell back and you seen an upside down Dean give you a thumbs up.

Sam whipped you back up and you stumbled a little. Sam turned you easily covering it up so it looked like you didn’t. You giggled and looked up at him. ‘With moves like that I don’t want to’ He chuckled. He let go of your waist and twirled you. You turned back into his arms. ‘Thank you for looking past the life’ He smiled.

He had said something like that during your vows but with your family there he couldn’t go into the whole hunting monsters, demons and angels thing. They didn’t know what Sam did. They thought he was a sales rep travelling the country with his brother for a company of a family friend. ‘You kill monsters Sam. You’re a hero’ You smiled and it was his turn to blush.

You giggled. ‘And yes Sam, you are a hero. To me you are. You’re my hero’ He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your lips. He stopped dancing pulling you closer. ‘You are Sam Winchester, you’re the best man I’ve ever met and that-that-is only one of the reasons I married you’ He chuckled his hand reaching around to the small of your back and pulling you flush against him as he began swaying slightly.

Silence fell between the two of you. During that silence the song came to an end. Sam looked around as people began to join you on the floor. ‘I love you Mrs Y/n Winchester’ Sam smiled down a twinkle in his hazel eyes. ‘I love you too, my heroic husband’ You whispered as he spun you again.
