guys the fact that at the end of One Poker when Kazuya was hanging onto dear life as he begged Mother Sophie to save him , the way that event mirrored one of his earliest traumatic events that made him the way he was when his mother, Sophie, chose his brother over him. The way this moment was paralled with how Mother Sophie "chose" Kaiji over him. THE WAY THE MOMENT WHEN HIS MOTHER DIDN'T SAVE HIM MARKED THE BEGINNING OF HIS DISTRUST OVER HUMANS AND THE SECOND MOMENT MADE HIM REALIZE THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE WHO GENUINELY CARED ABOUT HIM, THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE REAL HIM AND STILL CHOSE TO SAVE HIM.
