guys the fact that at the end of One Poker when Kazuya was hanging onto dear life as he begged Mother Sophie to save him , the way that event mirrored one of his earliest traumatic events that made him the way he was when his mother, Sophie, chose his brother over him. The way this moment was paralled with how Mother Sophie "chose" Kaiji over him. THE WAY THE MOMENT WHEN HIS MOTHER DIDN'T SAVE HIM MARKED THE BEGINNING OF HIS DISTRUST OVER HUMANS AND THE SECOND MOMENT MADE HIM REALIZE THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE WHO GENUINELY CARED ABOUT HIM, THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE REAL HIM AND STILL CHOSE TO SAVE HIM.
I need these two to kiss NOW.
thought about how dunmesh characters would fare in a Kaiji like setting and almost immediately concluded that Izutsumi would fill the role of Kaiji in said setting.
This is a top moment in Akagi for the simple fact that this is literally the only moment in the manga where he makes a face beyond stoic and stoic(grinning)
Reading Ten and it's so easy to assume that Akagi is just an old guy with grey hair but nope, local grey haired old man is just an aged up silver haired anime boy.
Mamiya is a really important manga just bc it asks the question of "what if Akagi was a zoomer"
The question isn't whether or not Kaiji would invest into crypto but for how long he would invest before he realizes it's a scam.
I love how when Kaiji first leaves the Sakazaki household Mikoko was genuinely really sad about him leaving but three days later she's already drawing manga roasting him for being a shit boyfriend.
I've seen people say that Kaiji would be dead if he had to play against Washizu but I kinda doubt it. Like first of all Akagi played against Washizu with modified rules that made the game far more deathly, rules that Kaiji wouldn't even think about proposing.
And second, Kaiji wouldn't win, hell the amount of blood he would lose might be dangerously close to the lethal limit but most likely he would barely survive with barely any or no earnings at all.
Because Kaiji is the ultimate survivor, not the ultimate gambler.
Knowing Fukumoto, knowing how part 7 will be the last part and knowing how part 7 will be most likely a match against Hyoudou I can already FEEL the decade long 300 chapter match. These two might end up having.... A match surpassing even Washizu Mahjong in sheer bullshittery.
Genuinely I will be disappointed if Part 7 doesn't end up being the longest part by a mile.
